its either abilene lufkin or plano.

so in my mind the big determining factor is the plano abilene game. Cause i think those lufkin panthers are gonna roll the lobos.

C'mon Eagle fan. Where are your Region 3 and Region 4 representatives? If nothing has changed after this weekend's games, Katy, Schertz Clemens, Smithson Valley and a few other good teams are coming out of those regions. I am pretty sure they are going to have something to say about the DII state title run. ;)

First of all there only be a D2 champ not champs. Secondly the 05' Champ will be the team that executes the best thus outscoring their opponent. And how can you ever ask a question like this and not include teams such as Katy or SLC(assuming neither go D1)?

You seriously cant count garland out...we can beat Carter (only lost by a TD earlier this season) and we have teh depth and potential to make it to state...

I like Abilene and Longview both this year, but all of the ones listed are threats as well. It should be exciting.

I think I will hold judment on this until I see how the next 2 weeks go. I was amazed at the games this last weekend. Lots will be known about lots of teams after this upcoming weekend. After this weekend we will actually know who will be playing in D2!

I will go with Katy. They will come out of Region 3 in a breeze. Then the semi's against SV or SC. Should win that also, but at least will have a test to get ready for the final. The schools in Region's 1 and 2 will be beat to death before they get there.

Katy will enter the back door with and easy first round schedule but they have to play Lufkin down the road and their luck runs out here. to bad they can go into D1 to see if they are for real or not.

It would not surprise me to see some "unknown" team catch fire and become the team of destiney to win State. I will let you know in about 7 weeks who that team is :D

i know i was just messing with him, i respect DR a ton, the magnitude of the 3 games the last 2 years, and how we can still respect eachotehr and their programs, just shwos the class by both schools

No doubt. I was a little dissapointed to think that SLC would not get a chance to meet with Longview when it became probable that SLC would go D1. Now however, Trinity Longview and SLC all in D1....gonna be some great fall ball going on.

I think when the last week is played we will know...I think Longview will not be denied, they have shown they can will close ball games...so i will say Longview wins whatever division they go to and john Tyler has to be watched carefully...Division 2 has a problem and CUJO is his name.

And how can you only have a list of six teams when there will be 64 teams fighting for that same Div 2 title? :rolleyes:

Don't count out Leander either. A few upsets hear and their, and no SLC in division 2, anything could happen. We hae more momentum than we had in the year we went 12-2 and lost to Allen and we have a better team than that team. I like our chances against anybody right now with the type of momentum we have.

I really hope to see a intense showing by Longview. They need to come out and reestablish the run and take care of business. If we do this I say we will make a great run in the playoffs....if not we will get beat by one of the other top teams in the state.

What about the clemens buffaloes. 9th ranked right now in the state. Loss of james henry huge but there are plenty more runners like him on the team. Look out for the buffaloes D2

That is our problem, trying to establish the run. The second half we came out and threw a pass and scored the next time we had the ball we scored off the pass. Teams are giving us the pass, we have to be able to take what teams are giving us. Mcgee is the best back in the state, but when you have five or six guys blocking nine in the box you will find it hard moving the chains. We have to let Carlin do what he does, he is the qb and he showed if you call his number he can respond. We have to pass the ball, teams have decided to abandon the passing lanes against us and it is there for us we just have to be dedicated to, not passing or running the ball, but instead, taking what is given, if we come out in a two tight set we and see a eight, or, nine man front, why not had Reese 6'6" streak down the middle of the field. We do that two or three times, teams will back off the line opening up the way for Vondrell to do his thing.
