I'm going to assume Reagan beat Churchill 35-14. The sound went out with 2 minutes left in the game. Good, I got the postgame show and it was 35-14.
Here's the scenarios:
Smithson Valley wins district with a win over Roosevelt. They're in the playoffs already. They are D2 and no worse than 2nd Place. Probably #1 D2 rep and playing San Marcos.
Madison wins district with a win over MacArthur and a Smithson Valley loss. They're in the playoffs and in D2 and no worse than 2nd Place. Probably #2 D2 rep and playing Clemens.
Churchill, Reagan, and Judson are in the fight for the last playoff spot, but Churchill can't get it.
Reagan 35-14 Churchill
Churchill 14-0 Judson
Churchill -7
Judson -14
Reagan +21
Reagan is in the playoffs and goes D1 against Seguin if they beat Judson.
The Reagan-Judson winner is in the playoffs and goes D1 if Lee beats Churchill.
If Churchill beats Lee, Judson has to beat Reagan by 18 to make the playoffs. 17 or less and Reagan goes.

I BELIEVE IN ROCKET PRIDE! Churchill should've never given the Rockets a chance to make the playoffs. They'll hit paydirt! :D The Chargers might have a letwdown now that they know they're eliminated.

Good breakdown lonny. I didn't realize Churchill no longer has a shot. I suppose this is because they finished with negative points in their 2 head to heads? If they'd lost today by a margin leaving them with positive points, they'd still have a shot, right?
So, as you said, most likely scenario is San Marcos vs SV and Madison vs Clemens in round 1.
sendero

If your forecast holds and SV beats Roosevelt I believe they will play San Marcos in SM since they owe SM a home game from last year's playoff game.
I would figure the Clemens vs. Madison in Alamodome?
Seguin vs. Judson or Reagan in Alamodome for double header?
Are we too early to play in Alamodome yet?

If Churchill had lost a close game, they could've made the playoffs with a small Judson victory next week. That went out the door today.
Churchill is 7 points in front of Judson and 21 behind Reagan. If Judson moved up 6 points to 1 point behind Churchill, Reagan would still be 15 points in front of Churchill.

Schools pay a certain rate for use of the stadium and don't get concession or parking money. They split the gate receipts from ticket sales. Texas Stadium used to always have a good deal for charging like $1500 for a playoff game. They lost money, but it was good for the teams.
I loved it a few years ago when the Judson Booster Club was selling concessions at the Clemens-SV playoff game! :D

True, and the preseason predictions (among Reagan fans) were either 1-9, or 6-4. And it all depended on how Greg could take the offense and how good the defense could turn out to be.

Marcus Wright took off, they hit him in the backfield, i figured he was down, then he crossed the sticks, gets in another huddle, then BAM, breaks out, and a Charger tries to tackle but slides off and then he just rode on into the sunset.

I kinda like the "those suckers are winning state titles"
But I think Coach Wetzel turned it around. Last year, he inherited the other guys team, and trust me...as soon as the last second ticked off at the last game....every single senior was transferred out, and he went to every team (JV, freshman) and got some good players. As for next year-
Returning:
WR/#2QB--Matt Smith
RB Marcus Wright (very excited about this - only a sophomore now)
Linebackers are all Juniors
And there's more - this Rattler team is looking good for next year. And Freshman A (and maybe B) is still undefeated....

I'm also not too concerned as to whether the Rockets get blown off the field on Friday, or somewhere down the line should they be fortunate to "force" a Game 11, as long as the effort in the past two games is there on Friday and/or thereafter.
Rocket Pride means that to "save our from disgrace and shame" doesn't necessarily mean to "win this game" of football---at least any particular game, this Friday's included. It means that the "game" on the field is merely another "down" in the much more important "game" of life---where the stakes are much higher---and which even there doesn't necessarily include "winning" in the purest sense but means "going the distance" with dignity, pride, respect for others, faith, hope and love and all that. This has just been a horrible year. I thought at this point I would have a ahrd time finding a worse team in 26-5a and then came Mac. It is hard for people on this eb site to tellyou the truth, I am one that always will even if the truth hurts. The problem starts and ends with Rackley, because he is the head man. Take a good look at what has happened with this team this year. Several team members have ben thrown off the team this year, because of many different reasons. Many kids have not passed there classes, and that is just not like the Rockets of old. Go back 8 years would this have happened before? I doubt it but it is the head man that should stand up and take full responsibility of what is happening to the team. I can't balame the OC, Rackley is his boss. I can't blame the kids, if they can get away with it then it is not thier problem. I also realize that Rackley will be back next and that is Ok for now. If he should have another year like this one, then Judson Football as we have all known it wil be gone for awhile. I really do not woirry about Friday's game, if you have been watching them live and in color then you know the answer already. This team cannot score enough points to cover the points that will be needed. The defense will keep them in the game, but in the end they will not be going to the playoffs. Rackley and his staff can accomplish two things that has not happened in awhile. The can be part of a team that did not score for the first time in 18 years and not had a winning record in 27 or 28 straight years.

That was a Clemens - SM playoff game. We never played SV at Rocket Stadium!
Why are you talking about CJ for the playoffs again, I thought you fired them? LOL

May I ask what year you started being a fan? You know that from watching the Rockets play that they can surprise you. I am hoping that they will surprise us. I am sure the seniors are thinking that they do not want to be the class that did not achieve their goals.

True, and the preseason predictions (among Reagan fans) were either 1-9, or 6-4. And it all depended on how Greg could take the offense and how good the defense could turn out to be.
We can go 7-3, we already made history, but we can get a double whammy next week. Go 7-3, beat Judson for the first time, and go to the playoffs....
That would be a triple whammy! Way to go Reagan, now take care of business in week 10!

I admire you, but you tell me and stop wanting it so bad. What have you seen over the past 4 games on offense that tells you that we are going to score enough points to do this. And please do not try and tell me about Judson Pride and they have been here before. And they fan thing I go back to Judson vs Stockdale in bi-district that should tell you a whole lot.

The offense doesn't have to be 18 points better. The team has to be and can get turnovers and returns to score enough. You just have to believe they'll find a way when it doesn't look like it's possible. This year has been different, but that doesn't mean they can't resurrect the past. Maybe the band will break out the Diamond J!

Lonny, it's kinda difficult to get turnovers from the Reagan defense....only thing you all can hope for are fumbles...Greg hardly ever passes. His interception at Roosevelt was weird, I don't know what the heck happened he like threw it down towards the line and somehow ended up in a Rider's hand.

10-31-2005, 09:24 PM
Hey Lonny,
There are no Negative points
Right now it stands like this
Reagan- +21
Churchill- +14
Judson- 0
The most positive points allowed in one game is 21 in 26-5A, so even if we beat Reagan by 21 we will still be tied with them. Churchill is OUT of the playoffs no matter what happens.
If Judson wins by 21 it will probably be one of 2 ways they will determine the tiebreaker:
(1st) They do a coin toss between Judson and Reagan
OR
(2nd) They take the winner of 2 head to head teams that are tied at the same amount of Positive points. This would make Judson go to the playoffs because they won(in this scenario) against Reagan.
OR
If Judson wins by 15, it might work this way:
Churchill is no longer part of the tie, and it then becomes a tie between Judson and Reagan and Judson wins the head to head so we go.
OR
If SA Lee beats Churchill and Judson beats Reagan, Judson goes to the playoffs. Come on LEE!!!
These are the 4 ways it MIGHT work. When we sort out the confusion at Judson I will let you guys know. There is supposed to be a meeting of the district commitee or something so I'll let you guys know ASAP.
Reaganrattler07
11-01-2005, 09:27 AM
Churchill is out no matter what, I don't see a possibility in which they would go.
Judson needs to beat Reagan by 22 or more I believe
Reagan needs to either win or lose by 20 or less.
In the unlikely event that Lee somehow beats Churchill, then all that matters is Judson wins. (Reagan-Judson, Churchill-Lee all play same night) So we'll go ahead and get all the results that night

I think everyone is blowing smoke about the scenarios that would put either team in the playoffs? They had a meeting yesterday to discuss it.
So what's gonna happen? Point spreads or what?

1. Why is Lonny such a homer?
2. Why is RedSkins not in school right now?

1. I want the team fired up for this week.
2. He probably is in school and just goofing off. Hey, he probably learns more here than in school. The quality of his education is a completely different matter, though!
3. I'm comin straight up outta that chatroom, and live from the

It will come down to positive points, with a Judson win and a Churchill win. The question they were trying to answer is how many points Judson must win by, 21,18,15. The biggest diferential allowed by the district minutes is 21 points. So it will be interesting to hear the outcome, I am going to make some calls today and try to find out. If Churchill loses it will come down to head to head.

No, I'm actually the only one not goofing off....surprisingly.

Yeah....well, I see a coach later in the day, and (i won't say which coach) but he's kinda higher up so I'll see if he knows anything.

Lets have a bet....since you don't wanna answer in the other thread. Your Rockets lose, you don't post for the entire weekend (US Central Time)...my Rattlers lose out on the PLAYOFFS, I don't post for the weekend (US Central time)
If Judson loses, I won't post for the entire weekend after they lose. I must send 1 email about the loss because you know people will be looking for and asking about me. I'll wait until I get off of work on Monday evening to post and that should be 3 A.M. on Monday in the U.S.
If Reagan loses, you can't post for the entire weekend. I'll agree to you sending 1 last email.
The playoff berth shouldn't even come into play.
I haven't read the other thread, Think about it for a minute:
1. When have I not answered a question?
2. When did I not put my neck out there?
3. When have I not responded to what others say?

That was sarcasm I think he coaches Freshmen football. Maybe it was coach MCclay?

The one last email? Is that a post or not? By the way, the Period ends in about 5 minutes but for the no posting, I'm fine with that. I HAVE NOT AGREED TO ANYTHIGN YET....we'll work out the details later. But so far, no posting for the weekend (our time). And one last post? Right?

I don't know all the coaches, I know a few on Varsity....but that's either cause they're more important or they also coach other sports.

OK, I meant to say post and not email. People will be asking and if criminals get one call and guys that get banned here sometimes get one last post, we should, too.

Like I said: THE MOST POSITIVE POINTS ALLOWED IS 21. So in the un-likely event Judson wins by 50, we still only get 21 points. Reagan already has +21 points, hence the whole reason no one knows how this is going to work out. GO LEE.

I have been on I just have not been posting. I haven't even let the thought of being out enter my mind. We are not out, and right now it seems like the playoffs are in our hand.

What has the Rack attack told the boy's? Has he told them how much they must win by. I know Granger is in the loop he should have some insight.

They're technically in our hand...you just have to steal it by beating us down.

Alright then, if the SCUDS(Rockets) lose, then you can't post for Sat. Sun. our time (you can post all friday night) and if my Rattlers lose than the same goes for me. Post all Friday Night but come midnight I don't get on until Monday at 12:01....which i probably won't that late at night.

What are you talking about? I wish they would make it and we were in D1 so we could give a pay back for last year's spanking! I have seen both teams in person this year and the Buffs would man-handle them!

O yes I wish to god that would happen, I actually played on last years team and the last thing we wanted was to go out losing to the rockets but we got spanked. This yr I would love to see a SC v Judson matchup but I dont think its possible!! :(
