and basically getting a pass to the state semi-finals because they are going to roll everyone in D-II, region III...all of the good teams in the Houston area, well, the three best other than Katy, which are Westfield, North Shore and Pearland, will all be in D-1 and thanks to Hastings beating Katy Taylor last night, Hastings or Cinco Ranch will wrap up the 19-5A D-1 spot in the playoffs.
just think what could have been had Katy been in D-II.....Katy would have rolled the 20-5A rep, Austin or Kempner...they would have stomped the 17/18 winner, probably Cy- Fair..then in the regional final, they would have met up with the Westfield, North Shore or Pearland round robin winner.....oh well
they can still meet up with Lukin or Longview in the state finals, if they get thru Schertz Clemens

I thought Taylor would beat Hastings, but should have known better. I didn't expect Clear Lake to give Katy a game last year, so you never know where your competition will come from. I agree that Region 3, D1 will be the stronger bracket overall with Shore and Westfield along with Pearland/Lamar. It's tough to pick another favorite projecting in Div. 2, Region 3 after Katy. FB Marshall has been playing well, but you never really know about 20-5A teams.

We didn't try to miss Div 1. It was taken away. All Katy has done is win their games and let the chips fall where they may. I wanted Katy to go Div. 1 this season. That would have guaranteed some great playoff games. Of course, like KT2K said, we didn't think we would lose to Clear Lake.

I don't think there is a Tiger on the team who really cares what division they play in come playoff season. All a Tiger really wants is to face a Dragon on the field. The state game is the only way.

Really? I would have thought that Katy fans would be totally indifferent about playing Carroll. After all, you were the victors in 2003. It's not like there's a revenge factor, as there is with Carroll fans.

If Rajon Henley is back for Galveston Ball by the playoffs (he should be) then they will be back in tact and will be one of the best teams in D2 region 3 coming from the opposite bracket as Katy. Dobie will be the toughest game for Ball coming up the bracket but I believe that their offense is much improved with Dwight Taylor running the ball. This is the best squad Ball has had in years with 18 starters being seniors and they are loaded with speed. Their only 2 losses were to Lamarque (by 1) and Pearland (by 3 after Rajon left the game hurt, then Whitaker broke out). Weakness is they don't have lots of depth and to many penalties but they are the hardest hitting team I've watched this year. They will bring the hat.

DI or DII, does not matter. We have a revenge game of our own this week against Alief Taylor and then it's playoff time.
No matter what Div. you are in the teams are going to be tough, but playing the Westfield/North Shore winner would have been huge. We were looking forward to the challenge.
DII is a familiar road with the local challenges from Galveston Ball, Dobie, Memorial, and possibly Humble. It is going to be fun no matter who we play.
Believe me, we will not overlook any opponent this year

It's not just the fans.
You should have seen the preseason pep rally at Katy. A Dragon roared onto the stage. When the Tiger confronted him, the Dragon turned out to be just a bunch of boys with blonde hair.
The question is asked at every game. Did SLC win? Good. Are we going to be in the same division? Not sure.
Why do we want to play the Dragon? Because everyone says the Dragon is king.
Every game, every play. It's one step closer.
