Yea It is a possibillity with the next realignment. The enrollment now is at 1800+. The community is growing at an alarming rate. And development within and around is keeping up. You have to drive through the area to believe it. The population is changing alot like Desoto and Cedar Hill. DeSoto and CH used to be communities with middle aged and retired caucaisians making up the populations. Not anymore. The same thing has happened to lancaster. The facilities are better than 90% of the facilities in the suburbs. An Urban School with an Indor Practice Facility. 10,000 Seat Stadium with Track. 8000 seat Basketball ARENA. 2 of the best kept grass practice fields in the area. The athletes are there. Look at their Boys and Girls Track Teams over the last 15 years. WOW. The Boys basketball team is on the way back after a few down years. The athletes are their, look at the recruiting sites. They have lineman that can average out to be 6'3 285+. Now why have they not been able to win. Well the 1st thing is that the academic situation is in serious flux. bad grades and bad leadership. They dont have an athletic period so all preparation has to be done after school hours and thats hard living in Texas High School Football. Also in the last decade or so they have been put in some TOUGH districts due to there location. They have been in the district with Ennis, Corsicanna, Waxahachie, terrell, Wylie, and Wilmer Hutchins( when they had a team they were tough beat in 4a), they also played Highland Park and DeSoto. On the field its been an uphill climb. Another problem with the macine has been scheme. Andrew jackson is a hell of a coach. He was successful at Austin Reagan before he came to lancaster. He ran a Navy type veer offense up until 2006. Kids today just dont find that attractive to run. the offense is now more like a West Virginia Spread option. But they throw less than WVU does and you know they didnt throw it alot. Im not saying that you have to be Texas Tech but you need to throw a bit more and have balance. Now the defense is always top notch because the athletes are over there. remember Larry Dibbles who went to Texas as a high school all-american.
Lancaster is the job of the future for the right coach who has the mind and patience to nurture it into what it can be. Be it in 4A or 5A.

And...I'll be there to watch this game! Like onevision said earlier, Lancaster has had the athletes, but without the proper leadership, it can be very hard to compete when you're in the district with Ennis, 'Hachie, and Corsicana. I knew Lancaster was growing but, I didn't realize they already had 1,800 students. Also, I've seen the new facilities; BEAUTIFUL! Their facilities, and Mineral Wells', are some of the best around down in the 4A ranks.
