View Full Version : Katy, Plano and Westfield

There are 18 undefeated teams left in the state through Week 9.
In doing my research to sort the playoff brackets out I found that Katy, Plano and Westfield are the only teams in the state to win all of their games by at least 14 points so far this year. Impressive.
Usually, most teams have an off day that results in a tough game but those three teams have managed to overcome any non-A games they might have had to this point and still win impressively.

I remember last year seeing the overall winningest records for
5A TX Football and Converse Judson I believe was in first place.
Now I'm only talking about 5A not 4a,3a etc...
(I say this because SLC would probably be way up there if it included 4a)
Someone correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not a Football Guru like some of the one's on this board - but I think Converse is having a down year?
Do you know who up to the present would be say 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place?

Twwwweeeeett!!......blows whistle and throws flag on KT2000 for "excessive homerism". If you increase the margin by three to 17 points, Only SW and Plano would be included. If you dropped it by one to thirteen, Lufkin would be included. Looks like a favorable manipulation of numbers to make them say what you want them to.

Not so much. I've been hoping to make it obvious enough so people wouldn't have to ask questions.
That's why we had the Tigers ranked behind five other teams going into this week.

Hey our 7 losses were each by 9 or fewer points. That has to count for something, right? :o
All kidding aside, that is a pretty good accomplishment for Katy, Plano and Westfield. It's good to see Plano back in there also. How far can they go?
As good as Katy is year after year, I think KT does a fine job of staying unbiased. If my Stallions were enjoying the same success, you guys would all be tired of hearing me brag about them at every opportunity. Hey, I do that now - there just aren't many opportunities!

About the only reason there are any points scored against Katy is that Tiger starters are often benched during most of the second half of the games. There is usually a full compliment of third string Tigers on the field when the opponent finally scores.

Not to mention if Lufkin does not put their 2nd string defense in that game with 1 minute left when they gave up a 70 yard td Lufkin would have won all of their games by at least 17. Very deceiving KT!!! ;)

And if you throw out the lowest spread of victory for each team then SLC has been winning by 39+ :D
Numbers are wonderful things and can and have been used to prove points for ages.

You can prove to be right by analyzing numbers - Then you can use the exact same numbers and prove yourself wrong.
Very Paradoxical.

Man oh man...can't make ev1 happy lol. Should have lead with Plano (makes our northern neighbors happier) then Westfield and Katy last on the thread header. Maybe that would of kept it off the radar. :D
