thought this would be nice...wanna say happy fathers day to all you dads out there.... unfortunatly my father chose not to be in my life and after my mother died when i was real young, my grandparents raised me and my brother...my grandfather will always be my hero and inspiration to carry on no matter what happens to me in life...he taught me to work hard, be kind and stand your ground for what is right... i can remember some tough years with them when i didnt have a lot but they gave us all the love in the world they had...he also showed me what courage is all about when he contracted spinal cancer 3 years before he died and how he dealt with it...besides rasing me and my brother, they also raised 5 boys and one girl which of course was my mom...so i found a video on youtube that reflects how i feel...check it out..

My dad died way back in 1970 and I still miss him to this day. Fortunately, he lived long enough to see his grandson born, even if he wasn't around him or me nearly long enough. His grandson is now a father of his own boy, so to him I say Happy Father's day.

Happy Fathers Day to ALL you great Dad's out there. And remember your own fathers today if you are still lucky enough to have them around. Mine died in 1998 after heart surgery and I wish more than anything that I could go visit him and listen to him tell his stories (he was Irish - the stories were constant and funny as heck) and hear his great laugh and drink a beer with him and give him a kiss on his Santa beard:o. But don't think I won't be thinking about him nevertheless!!
Happy Fathers Day - have a great one!

I miss my dad.......he taught me how to fish, how to catch, throw and hit a baseball as my little league coach, and he taught me how to be a hard working, good person...I didn't get a chance to tell him how much I loved him, as he died suddenly....Take time to love your dad and be a good dad yourself..it's our duty and life's obligation as fathers.

It has taken me years to rekindle the relationship with my oldest son. My ex-wife divorced me in 85 and took the oldest, I got the youngest. The brothers stayed in contact all these years. The oldest in New York, the youngest here in Texas with me. The oldest son would rarely speak to me. In early February, my grandson passed away (my oldest son's son). I surprised my son by flying to New York for the funeral. Yesterday my youngest son took me to the Yankees - Astros game and afterwards gave me the Father's Day card that my oldest son had sent to me via him. This was the first card I have ever received. Even though the 'Stros got destroyed by their Yankees, this was the best Father's Day ever. I rarely save things, but this card and game ticket is special. Hope everyone had the 'Special Day' I had.

Can I just post memories as they come to me?
My dad was a construction supervisor, and would come home exhausted...When they would pour concrete he could barely use his hands, but he would always take time to go outside and play catch if I asked....These little gestures mean so much more to me now than they did then...I try and do the same with my kids when I can, but would probably not, if not for the lessons my Dad taught me just by being him....
