From Matt Stepp at TPI. I'm not sure what the * means- could be teams that have already qualified for state. He also seems to think the West Texas tournament is the reason there is a lack of teams here, and speculates the state 7 on 7 board will give this SQT to someone else next year.

It is killing that SQT. Think about it, Permian, Midland Lee, Frenship, Big Spring, San Angelo Lakeview, Odessa San Angelo Central have all attended this tournament in the past. That's seven teams right there you could add. Lampasas, Copperas Cove and Fort Worth Paschal all dropped out due to lack of teams and not wanting to drive such a long distance to not have 3 guaranteed games.

That may be the worst big school SQT field I have ever seen.

Since only one team from a school can qualify, there are not a lot of candidates in this tournament.

Probably this will be the easiest qualifier in the state.
