Does anyone know who the worst player is in 5A texas football history? QB, RB, WR, Defense? I'm trying to see where Gilmer, Lake's resident crossbreed of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, ranks. 10 interceptions on an option team and 19 fumbles lost, an int or fumble has occured on potential go ahead scoring drives in 6 lake games in the late 4th quarter. I realize the sacks are not really his fault as it mostly is the line but he is easily in the 20's or 30's as far as sacks go. Wow apparently I weatch the Texans fridays and sundays... anyways give me your stats on bad players.

I don't know his name...but I bet he played for Laredo United South.
as far as the NFL goes....Babe Laufenberg...doesn't get much worse than that...his stats are worse than mine...and I never played.

That is weak - stand up for your team - hell they were awesome last year. You need to grab a page from past history and stand up 4 ur team. You may be down this year but it happens.... Jr's get ur hat on and get ready for next year. I want a GREAT game between Lake and Pearland

As far as High School goes, Kaleb Womack, OT for Longview these past couple of years. Kid thought he was a thug and if there was a holding penalty, personal foul, etc. called on the offense, 99% of the time it was Womack. The kid had a hot (and empty) head. Lord only knows why that kid started for two years. He wasn't strong, he wasn't a good blocker, he drew lots of penalties.....WHY??

From the crap I hear and the crap I see this is a team i love and a guy i hate. Lake loses sledge, blow, mckinney, and whats left of there impact palyers this year. I hope Ronnie Feaster can devlop into a beast because this team is going to be even worse next year.
Oh yeah I love my school and i will stand up for them, just not Gilmer. Why he is still even on the team is mind boggling from what i've heard. All I do know is, if we had a qb that could hold onto the ball we would probably be in the playoffs and not losing to brook for our homecoming. The most painful thing i've seen in years came when those brook a-holes did their little train dance after going up by 2 td's. This was the one game we needed to win this season and only one person didn't come to play tonight. Unfortuantley that one person handles the ball every offensive play.

PHIL POZDERAC
I'll never forget the 2nd Giants game in 1986. The Cowboys were 6-2 going into NY and tied with the eventual champs. Poz got 2 holding calls in the last minute and wiped out 2 big pass plays and the Cowboys lost 17-14 on their way to a 7-9 finish. He put them in a tailspin.

I'll give you credit for that one....
We will continue tomorrow PrimeTime....
you have a good one.
The kid did pretty good, I'm impressed.
The Mavs traded Mike Bratz to......uh.......somebody and picked Sam Perkins, ahead of, I think, Sir Charles.

First off...short bus...
It's "feel"...not feal...what the hell is feal?
c'mon dude...you come on here demanding respect...and you can't even
spell simple English correctly...
Maybe I should go wake my 3rd grader up...so she can help you out?
I don't need an army...
I am a Navy of one...always have been.
You are somewhat of a mosquito aren't you?
just a pest...
Go look at porn or something...before your Mama and her new boyfriend come home for the night.
Why did you let this guy get to you so easily? :D Regradless of what somebody says, we owe them a level of respect. I believe in respect for elders and the whole bit, but I also know they won't show you any respect if you don't show them any. Somebody has to be a bigger man and not fight back.

Listen...You got OWNED...last night...bowiedawgs and I ...questioned your English skills...and quite frankly...you failed miserably....
Now don't turn this into a "let's get Wide banned thing" okay?
It's over...
You are a little kid...
I am a grown man...
You know your role
and I know mine.
Yeah, but you're acting like a little kid.

I don't think he was ever the head coach though.
Army?
I don't think so...maybe I'm thinking of Parcells and Bob Knight...
oh...the Wolfpack...NC St...forgot about that.
You forgot the most obvious one. THE PIGS! :D
Parcells and Bob Knight were at Army. Coach K was there and so was my Physics teacher in High School. The Physics teacher coached girl's basketball in Mt. Pleasant, but he sure never did what the other guys did!

Yeah...I only missed it by 2 time zones...
my turn...
In 1965 the Chicago Bears had two first round picks...
Who did they pick?
Gale Sayers and Brian Piccolo. My uncle played for the Bears and was in the practice scene of Brian's Song. He backed up Butkus at MLB.

I was close....
Since I can't go back in the days...
I didn't know there were restrictions to sports knowledge...but anyway
What is the only NFL rushing record that can never be broken...who did it...and what team did he do it against?
Tony Dorsett ran a 99 yard TD for the Cowboys on the last Monday Night game of the strike year in 1982. It was in Minnesota and Dallas only had 10 men on the field. It was like January 2 or 3, 1983 when he did it. I think it was Ron Springs that was supposed to be on the field and wasn't.
lonny23

Lew Ford is from Beaumont...college....give me a minute I know this...
and you said sports knowledge....
I wasn't born in '65 either...but I know it.
I had no clue on this one.

lonny23
10-29-2005, 06:44 AM
I forgot to give you the answer.....
Two Hall of Famers...
Dick Butkus
and Gale Sayers
I almost said Butkus, but thought they got him a few years earlier. That's why I went with Piccolo. I should've remembered that Piccolo was there before Sayers.
Somewhere in the house my dad has the football from 1971 with all the Bears autographs on it. My uncle gave one to my grandfather, too.
The best Butkus story is the time he made somebody so mad the guy said he was going to bite his head off. Butkus told him "That'll be the most brains you ever had!" :D

wait...let me enlighten you first...
Tony Dorsett...Monday Night Football...ran a TD 95 and one half yards from scrimmage....against the Minnesota Vikings...(they had 12 men on the field too and still couldn't stop Tony D)
Therefore...the record can never be broken...95 and 1/2 yards...if you go back any more than that ...it's a safety....
BTW...I saw that play happen live...
I obviously remember it better than you because it was 99 1/2 yards and Dallas had 10 men on the field! :p

Last one...
In 1984 what two players were drafted ahead of Michael Jordan..?
and what teams passed him up?
Akeem Olajuwon, Houston, by the Rockets
Sam Bowie, Kentucky, by the Trail Blazers
Don't say Hakeem or you're wrong! ;) He changed the spelling later.
The Mavs got Sam Perkins, North Carolina after Jordan.

It was a typo...I meant 99...duh...else it would be breakable.
But it was the Vikings that had 12 men on the field...not Dallas with 10.
I'll try and find a link to the story somewhere.

Gilmer has been the stand out for years while going through little league, junior high and sub-varsity squads because he has always been a FOOT taller than his competition. Now the worm has turned, he is no longer the biggest or fastest on the field because of his abnormal head start. His competition has passed him in speed and caught him in size, so its no longer just give me the ball and I'll tear up the competition because I'm just physically ahead of you. He now needs to go to work and earn it. Oswald's work ethic was way beyond anything Gilmer has ever had to deal with by comparison because its always just come easy for him because he grew faster then the rest of the young men in the area. If they are going to stay with Gilmer as QB, they will have to change some things and Gilmer will have to go to work in the off season.
Its going to be tough for Lake because they don't have the speed they had last year and they will be losing what is left when Geno leaves this year. Watch varsity track this year and you will see that G'ball, Creek and Pearland are the fastest young men in the district. Lake only places in the distance events.

True, I cant even fathom what the next few years aer going to be like especially after they lose D-I possible players in Blow and Sledge and stand out players Zamora, McKinney, and Brooks. I hear the freshmen track team and football squads are wrecking shop so look out for Clear Lake football 2009!

Like always, I won't look to get the answers.
