Let's face it...football games are supposed to be forums where all can enjoy sportsmanship and the entertainment. After the game, sportsmanship should continue amongst the teams and fans, Trinity showed the respect in letting the SGP fans and student celebrate with their alma mater, etc. When it was over, Trinity began their traditions, including the HAKA. At this point, the SGP band began to yell a chant over the Trinity players and students. This was trully a display that the band director and students should be blamed for. When all was said and done, the true colors of SGP were revealed. There is no excuse for it. This trash does not uphold the game that the SGP team played, but showed a lot about the school. It should be a total embarrassment to the football team and the rest of the school.was a totally disrespectful, self-centered and immature act that should have been stopped by the band director. Is this what causes the rift between athletes and band members? You cannot answer this with any excuses, they would be just as indignant.

Congrats ...this is officially the gayest post ever on this board.
Just a thought....beat 'em...beat them and you don't have to worry about what their "BAND" is doing...
You lose...and they smash your tradition all in one night...I say it's time to tighten up the ship dude.
Because if they truly took such traditions to heart...they never would have allowed a team to beat them. Right?
I can't believe you started a thread about what a band did to a football team...Good Lord.

Bands and football teams should never be mentioned in the same breath...NEVER.
They are there to serve a purpose...that is all.
Don't get all crunk...and get your blood pressure up and think
you had something to do with the actual victory...because guess what
Mr. French Horn....You didn't..
Now play Louie,Louie one more time...and let's go home.

wide-e...you just don't get it.
Stinger doesn't get it
LV doesn't get it
A-town, shame on you for not getting it
The band does what the band does. Is it what the band does after every game? They have traditions also in case you didn't know. What exactly did they yell and how loud was it?
The haka is lame.

In 19-5a, the Bands play over each other's alma mater at the end of the game all the time. No one waits for anyone! That's just the way it's done in our district. I've heard from a Katy cheerleader that they can't really hear the other school's band when they are standing in front of ours. We can hear both bands in the stands, but the football players and cheerleaders on the field in front of the band can only hear the one they are standing in front of.

I'm firmly on the side of situational awareness, which many band directors lack. I think it's in bad taste to play over the top of another team like that after the game.
BTW, I entered this thread long after I spotted it. Hey, I have my priorities and I'd rather talk about brooms and Bonnie and Clyde before talking about BAND! :p Hey, there aren't new threads and I figured I'd give the thread a look-see. See I looked, and now I'm going someplace else! :D

Thank you Wide. I read this thread last night and wanted to post that. I figured being a newbie, I would wait for somebody else to.
