Southlake Carroll, Longview, Euless Trinity and John Tyler struggled, tonight! What do you think.....poor play or solid opposition?
I think it just shows the true nature of Texas HS Football......like you said....any given Friday....under the lights!
Our depth and talent is un-equaled, IMO!

I agree totally...it happens...My Dad always says "Don't let ol' MO in the game...because MO will whip your *** every time..."
You get that mo rollin'...and anybody can beat anybody.

Taking a look at South Grand Prairie's stats before tonight they've gained nearly 3000 yds (about 2100 of those yards are on the ground...and it's split by 4 or 5 different backs) and scored 33 tds! They lost last week, to IMAC..3-0!
This is obviously not a push-over squad!

All it shows is that Texas has the best football BY FAR. We don't do great in the national polls because nobody is invincible. It's not that they aren't that good and a reflection of how many good teams there are in the state. Anybody that wins a title in Texas deserves it.

Concha would disagree Lonny.
Of course Concha is a test tube baby...so consider the source.
Damn...the dude has been gone for over a month and I still hate him.

Yep! And just because Eluess Trinity lost tonight doesn't mean they're not going to be a handful in the playoffs (lookout SLC)...and don't think SGP will be a slouch, either!
Wow...this is actually good, in a sense, for the depth and quality of our programs! While we're in shock of what has happened, we know Trinity will be back, with a vengeance in the playoffs....and tonight a large group of young men from Southern Grand Prairie, who had the heart to stand in front of "RUSHING" train, deserves all the credit in the world!
Good job!

Lonny -
Until tonight, We had 5 teams in the top 25 nationally.
4 now.
Longview, Lufkin, Westfield, SLC.
Now, this is just according to ONE of the many polls. But this year, Texas has done very well nationally.

5 isn't enough because Colerain struggled to beat T Lee and they're nothing this year.

I believe there should be more Texas teams ranked nationally! To just have 4 is insulting! Sorry...don't mean to sound like a jerk!

Exactly....some polls have Colerain in the top 10, nationally! Are you kidding me?!

Texas has 19 of the top 100 in Calpreps national rankings. They have 6 of the top 25 in the power ranking. I bet that goes up in the playoffs.

You people are crazy...Ohio football is light years ahead of Texas.
The proof is in the pudding baby...
Colerain beat Tyler Lee...
Ohio St. "almost" beat Texas...
what more do you need to see?

tyler lee is garbage this year  ...they would lose to a lot of good 4a schools  ...IMO in the national top 25...i'd say about 20 of them should be texas teams :D ...and as for ohio st. "almost" beating texas...almost only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades ;) ..."doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile"

I don't think it's weird. Almost every title team plays a game that they struggle to win.

Haha.. Concha would also tell you how great the competition is in Ohio and that's its on par with Texas and blah blah blah. That "STATS" would be equal and the competition level in both States is about the same blah blah blah.
Of coarse I did notice how Colerain just beat Oak Hills 58-7. Great competition !!! Of coarse last week they beat some Middleton team like 55-10 or something. Most games this year except (St. Xavier & Tyler Lee) the halftime scores for Colerain are like 35-7. Ya, Ya, Ya that's great competition in Ohio.
Like I stated before the season and even state it more now. Ohio has about 5 solid High school teams where TEXAS has about 15 to 20 on the same if not higher level.
The other clear fact is the "OVERALL LEVEL" of competiton in Texas is way above that in Ohio. The Texas 2nd and 3rd tier teams (#16-#35) would crush & destroy the (#16-#35) in Ohio. It wouldnt even be football games.
If you put Texas #15 vs Ohio #15. The Texas team would beat them by 40pts.

I would say that if you had a "LEGIT".. key word being "LEGIT" top national #25 high school poll. There would easily be about 8 to 9 Texas teams that would be in it.
If you put together a "LEGIT" national 50 poll. There would be about 17 to 18 Texas teams in it on an average normal year.
