Man that car looks awesome and he tells me that he got it up to 158 mph really quick. I haven't been interested in American sedans for sometime but this one is definitely on the test drive list.
For those who don't know, the G8 GT is a new Pontiac

The G8 is going to be a great car, the reviews have said. It's based on Australian design, and it will be reliable, imo. I'd buy it if I had the money for it. It doesn't even have the gas guzzler tax like the GTO had.

My friend paid a little over 28,000 for the car and it is loaded. The list was around 31.

I was at HEB the other day and saw a Shelby GT 500 in the parking lot. It was beautiful.

Sorry, not the G8. It's far superior to anything else Pontiac has.
The only Mustangs worth a damn are the ones that cost over $40k (or are classic at this point, back when Ford was quality) Sorry, not paying that for a Ford.

Gotta disagree about Ford. I have an 05 and 07 Mustang GT 5 speed that my sons drive and are outstanding and fun to drive. They both were under 30K and stock run 0-60 in 5.3 seconds. The 05 isn't stock anymore and it is scary fast. The G8 is a great looking car and probably the best Pontiac has had in forever.

I've known too many Mustangs to not last at all. My step dad had one and also one of my significant others had one. Neither were GT, though, both were V6 so maybe that makes a difference?
The new one.. the interior looks like it made of cheap plastic in so many of them, but like I said, thats the 6.
Still would rather have the G8. Better everyday car than the Mustang, imo.

I drove a new Stang renter with less than 9,000 on the odo. The thing rattled and squeaked, things were working their way lose. Granted, it was a renter and those were hard 9,000 miles, but still....
I agree on the acres of cheap plastic on the interior. It just doesn't feel well put together. It was a base model, but the base model Toyotas or Hondas don't feel cheap like that.
It's especially frustrating when you consider that so many "Japanes" (and "German") cars for the U.S. market are built in places like South Carolina or San Antonio. It's not that our workers are incapable of building good cars. It's that the U.S. makers give them crap to work with.

I can only relate my experiences and don't fault you for your opinion. I used to be a GM man only until 1986 when I bought the new ford Taurus LX. It was fully loaded and I put over 100,000 miles on it without any repairs besides standard maintenance. Car started first turn of the key every time. I started buying Fords from that point with only two deviations. I bought a brand new 1997 Chevy Blazer LT which was decent but too many trips to the service department for little things and before that a 1994 Chrysler New Yorker....total piece of SH*T. I will Never own another Dodge product. Since then it has been only Fords and they have been outstanding. Neither one of my son's GT's squeak or rattle but they do smoke the tires when called upon. BTW if I were to buy myself a GM car it would probably be the G8 because of the 4 doors and the great body style.

The money that should be going into US car quality is going into the union fund so that union fat cats can defend the worker:eek:....That is the singlular reason the the American automakers can't compete....

Classic!:notworthy
The '86 Monte Carlo that I just bought has a 350 in it that's pretty serious. I love it!

As for the G8, it's one of the best cars that I've ever seen. I got the opportunity to test drive one about 3 weeks ago.:notworthy I loved it, but, due to increasing gas prices, I figured I'd do something cheaper so I wouldn't have any car payments, which is why I purchased my old school.

LOL but those New Yorkers were so cool back then!! Was it one of the ones with the voices that told you when your fuel was low? I loved those LOL.
Yeah, I had a 1997 Dodge 4X4 truck once. Had problems and burned a ton of oil, plus only got like 14 MPG if that. It was a fun vehicle to have, but, no Chrysler products for me anymore.

My boys are 22 & 20 and those cars will be their graduation presents. I made them sign a contract when I bought them that has strict guidelines. More than one speeding ticket or any DWI and the car is sold. If they stay out of trouble they get the title when they graduate. It has worked out very well so far. I also wanted to have cars with full warranties so I wouldn't have to worry about repairs.

Got mine through travelers and my kids are very good drivers (Thank God).
Thats right you atheists, I thank God:p
You have to be a little creative but a good insurance agent can help you out. I suggest an independent agent

those were the days:)
funny how they pit a 325hp mustang against a 425hp challenger and the challenger wins:rolleyes: Actually the challenger wasn't that much faster than the bullitt.
Motor Trend ran a test of the Shelby GT500 against the new challenger srt8 and the mustang beat it in almost every category but they picked the challenger:rolleyes:
unbiased reporting to the fullest:rolleyes:
