I was jus wonderin what yall thought about Pearland? HOw good is Coach Heath? How good is their defense really? Do you believe Whittaker got the stuff to produce at major D1 school? Whats the chance of an upset in the 1st round agianst north shore?

The ONLY thing wrong with Pearland is that they have to play North Shore in the first round. They are capable of going 10-1 every year. Whittaker is a Jr. I beleive so, he has another year. Maybe realignment will help them out to avoid that 1st rd Shore match up.

Pearland just needs to take care of business tonight against Clear Creek and again next week against Alvin. Then worry about North Shore. If Whitaker is for real it will show up and the D1's will take notice. I have no doubt that he will do great things and follow the steps of Roberson and Evans.

Pearland's defense will be tested through the air tonight and on the ground with a young Creek squad that is loaded with speed. Creek's defense leaves alot to be desired and Whitaker could set a record tonight.

Pearland's problem is between the ears. They have the talent and coaching to go to the regional final. The challenge will be to convince a group of kids that they can beat Northshore. The legacy of consecutive losses is hard to overcome. Speciale is not a great QB, but he doesn't make mistakes and he knows how to win. If Whitaker continues to develop he'll be one of the best in the state next year. If that doesn't qualify him for consideration at a prestigious DI school I don't know what does.

Heath's arrival in 1996 and subsequent success stopped the revolving door of Pearland head coaches. Good amount of talent at subvarsity level. Whitaker had added about 15 lbs since last year and you would think he will only get bigger for his senior yr. Good question about chance of upsetting NS. Pearland came close last yr at 35-30 final score. The offense will have to stop their committing inopportune penalties that have called back successful plays the last couple of games. Heath actually opened up the passing game last week against Brazoswood. They will need it to keep NS defense honest. But, first things first, Heath will have his players focused only on Clear Creek tonight and Alvin next wk.

Thats the truth.

In Pracitce all week. There hasnt mean one mention of playoffs but Creek, Creek, Creek. All week we focused on creek preparin our defense for the spread offence and their tendency. Not even a mention of Alvin next week.

And if you think the only problem will be believin then it wont be much of a problem. Last years team believed and they fought to the end proving the could stay with north shore. This years team will only feed of that and rally behind the le3adership of Speciale, Vaughn and Henry.

Pearland's biggest problem is playing North Shore. They have a good team.

If pearland doesnt open up the passing game against ns they wont have a chance. Ns defense is to physical up front and have big time hitters if all you do is run. Pearlands success last year came from their passing game they did a little screen pass that worked over and over again untill shore got a key interception. That also opened things up for whittaker and that kid had talent.cant wait for this one but pearland will have to beat us on our home turf this year!!!!!

Tonite we showed the world a little taste of what our offense can do. Each week we improve revealing one more layer. Last week came the shock that we can actuactly throw more than 5 passes and this week cam over 170 yds passing and 530 yards of offense with whittaker only playin the first half and still pickin up 190 yds and 3 tds. of 43, 25, 12 on 15 carries. And when in the second half it came time to settle down with the lead our offense showed the power clock eating formation and held it out of creeks hands.

If we continue to improve each week we will get our chance.
