Should USC or Texas be ranked #1 in college football? I think the answer is obvious, Texas of course is superior, but not everyone agrees: http://vizu.com/vote_poll/Sports/College/ncaa/longhorns/trojans/.jsp?n=2732&cId=35

USC deserves the #1 ranking until someone knocks them off the pedestal. Texas is a solid #2 right now.

You know KT I agree with you 100%. USC is #1 and UT is a solid #2...but key words are RIGHT NOW!!! :D

I agree.....it only makes Texas look cheaped, and undeserved to see them at #1! I want to see UT beat the freakin' USC Condoms, not still their ranking because of computers!

Va Tech will lose to Miami!!!!! (< just had to say that! ;) )

USC deserves to be number one in all of the human polls, but Texas deserves to be number one in the computers because that is the system that NCAA football has.

USC shoould be #1 until someone beats them or if they struggle BIG TIME one week and Texas is DOMINATE that same week. It really dosent matter. They will be in the Rose Bowl(Unless UCLA knocks off USC) and the only difference between #1 and #2 is which sideline they sit on or what color jerseys they wear at game time.

Texas has played a tougher schedule so far this season than USC, and thats why they jumped for the time being... but the SOS of Texas for the rest of the season is not good, and USC will reclaim #1 after this week or the next.. and the gap between UT and VTech will close over the next few games...

I do think USC should remain #1 until they get beat... if your #1, your remain #1 until you lose...

what teams has texas played this year other than The Ohio State Buckeyes, USC has had alot more tougher teams in their schedule and still has to play some tough teams unlike UT. Usc has played Notre Dame, has UCLA this weekend, Cal, ASU, these teams are better than OU, Baylor, maybe not Tech, but ATM, Kansas, and all them other week Big XII teams, now i am not sayin that UT is not good, because to hold the number one offense in the nation to 17 point is unbelievable, but USC has played alot more better teams than UT, after this weekend we will see who is number, and they will stay there.

(here comes some more BCS bs cause we will have 3 undefeated teams like last year who deserve to go to the national championship)

Re-read my post... I said "SO FAR THIS SEASON" that means up until this point, doesnt include the rest of their schedule....... Texas has played more ranked teams SO FAR this season... USC has a tougher schedule from here on out... so they will return to #1 when and IF they beat CAL and UCLA...

Up till this point you are correct. Assuming the top 3 win out lets see what the BCS computers do then!! Ring-a-ding-ding baby!!!

It should be interesting no doubt... most BCS experts are saying that VaTech doesnt really have a chance to pass Texas if both run the table, but you never know what numbers those computers are going to spit out...

Contrary to what most believe I am not "hating" I do find it interesting to see what the computers do this year. I guess we will have to wait and see. If someone loses then the point is wasted but if not makes for some interesting arguments don't you think!!!!

What are all you schedule freaks gonna say if Texas Tech wins out (good chance) and ohio state wins out and both finish in the top ten.

We are beating this thing to death with assumptions. Let's just wait and see what happens. Right now Texas is no. 2 with the easiest path of all three to the
Rose bowl. I would not want to trade situations with any of the other 2 teams. They both are facing very losable games

Guess what... the computers dont know if Texas Tech is overated... all they see is the #2 teams obliterated the #7 team... The computers see #4, #24, and #7 on the schedule... thats all. The human polls are where the overated argument comes into play... not in the computers where it counts more...
