They have the best defense I've seen this year but offensively i don't know if they have enough firepower to upset Trinity. Give me the Trojans by a final of 31-10.

If SGP can throw you will see a good ball game. If not then Trinity might roll big.

O the Trojans better have their game face on, I expect the game to have an almost playoff like atmosphere as SGP looks to prove that there 7-0 start was no fluke. More importantly at least defensively SGP is the fastest team in the state. Notice I did not say necessirarly the best defense in the state even though their very good. Offensively the also have speed at the qb position, wr position, and rb position were they've recently have plugged in arguably their best overall player in safety Malcolm Williams. The point, this is exactly the type of team that many critics feel Trinity might struggle against claiming that the Trojans game is all about size and power and can be outrun. We'll see if thats the case ;) ,long story short SGP has more than a chance, this will be Trinity's most contested game to date.

I feel the Trojans are very motivated for the game tonight. Yes, SGP has some speed, but what happens to a rocket when they run out of fuel? After awhile the load is too much and the rocket gets slower and crashes. Trinity has faced many other teamms that had praises of being faster, but the Trinity defense is in excellent shape, standing tall at the end of the game, while the other offense is sucking for air. That is another product of team unity. These guys have prepared for a long time to be in this position and do not want it to sli[p away. Like the paper said this morning, only one or two teams have passed for more than 200 yards this year against Trinity, and running offenses have had a very difficult time. This might be the game that Lineweaver wants to make a statement and let the first stringers play longer. It is time to let the future opponents know what Trinity is capable of producing when needed. It is time to go into the playoffs on a roll.

So Et has a little trouble with the pass, or no??

This is Trinity's first real test of the season. Today's game will tell us which team is for real.

SGP will play pretty good, but isn't in ET's class.

NO!!! ET has no trouble with the pass. They have all but shut down running and passing teams. This is one of the few spread offenses they will face so far. But they should have little trouble getting to the quarterback and making him hurry. SGP has had success with teams that Trinity has shut down. But, their offense is no match.

This is the first team that Trinity is playing that has a winning record. This is when we find out if Trinity can really play and they better be ready to play.

I like what I hear, have not played a spread team, trouble with pass. Just a couple of weeks away, hopefully.

I beg to differ about them being THE fastest defense in the state!!

I would also have to disagree with SGP being the fastest defensive unit in the state

Fastest defense? I think not!! Even so...look at the quarterhorses...after one sprint they are done. Look for SGP to be askin for more air shortly into the game. After all...how long can you carry beef in your face when the Trinity offense is still running downfield late in the game. Careful SGP you may get what you ask. I have said this before...check the backs of the linemen's jerseys when you see them coming at you with a pancake block after the back has cleared the defensive line. It has been happening all season. Who is left after the back clears the line. After one pancake block...do ya want another...Pilgrim?

No trust me I'veobserved some of thw canidates. What you have to keep mind is that that SGP sacrifice a LOT of size in its linebacker corp and secondary to each the effect.

Please explain this post. Thanks.

Bigfoot,

I think what he is trying to say is that SGP is very fast but they are playing undersized in order to be that fast. Defensive end Bryan Ellis runs a 4.8 at 250 pounds. Coach Fisher told me that all but 2 of their players run a 4.8 or better. Obviously the secondary with 2 d-1 recruits is closer to a 4.5 but you get the idea. I would agree that this is one of the top 10 fastest defensive units in the state. Lufkin is the only team that i know for sure is faster.
