7on7junkie or anybody that might know, who are the teams that have managed to qualify for the tournament every year since it's started? I know Colleyville has and that one or two didnt qualify last year that had every year before.

Nobody at Paschal is gifted...at anything. They are good at traveling in huge packs to the Wendy's on Berry St. immediately after school ends.

Are you sure about the location? I agree on the date and that CHHS is the host. But I am under the impression that it will be held at the park along side Grapevine Lake in Grapevine rather than at CHHS.

Pool D is ridiculous.

Pool A looks squishy. Hope the Panthers break a sweat before they have to play for real.

Why isn't Grapevine in the tourney? Did they not register in time? Do they do 7 on 7?

I asked Stepp today and he told me Furin said the tournament will be at CHHS due to construction at Oak Grove Park.

Colleyville Hertiage and Arlington Lamar are the only two teams to qualify for every 7 on 7 State Tournament. Copperas Cove was on that list until last year.

Grapevine no longer plays SQTs, they bailed last year on the state tournament and are bascially only doing league play now.

Do you mean they qualified and then didn't show up for the State Tournament? If so...WOW!!! That's a crying shame.

Wonder why they moved Hebron out of Carroll's pool? Pool C is definately the pool of death now, with Hebron, Highland Park and Bowie.

With respect to that A Pool. Arlington has a solid QB and a kid who will be a junior this coming year who is a solid D-1 WR prospect.

Organizers are said to have "revised the pools due to having teams in the same district in the same pool.."*

Makes sense, but could likely meet in the later rounds anyway.

No Grapevine won their own SQT last year and then right after the SQT advised the board they would not be attending. They obviously lost their SQT and apparently want no part of SQTs any longer which is a shame because they were always good

I can understand why grapevine doesn't particularly care to participate in the state tournament. To do so is not all that inexpensive a proposition to travel to College Station; as the motels appear to jack up their prices for that weekend. Then there is that $3.70 / gallon to deal with currently and likely $4.00 by July. Plus entry fees and food, etc. I find it a fun few days, although the event is clearly structured to incent everyone to remain overnight and should Carroll qualify, I'll head down with the ususal crew again thise summer.

However, as I recall, didn't Grapevine get itself banned from participation in the 7 on 7 SQTs this season by not showing up in College Station last year? Otherwise, there is not much of a reason to skip the 7 on 7 season if you intend to be a passing offense in the fall.

I don't think they were banned since they gave notice. I think its self imposed.

As for the expense to College Station, most of time money can be raised for the kids and sponsors found to cover most of the cost.

Grapevine qualifies just about every year...Seems like coach said they get soembody hurt every time they go...Last year they won their tournament then let the semifinalist they beat (FW Eastern Hills) play the other semifinalist loser (Richland) for a spot in the State Tournament...Richland earned the berth by winning on the last play in regulation...

Richland has a good 7 on 7 team again this year but they lost to the eventual Champion yesterday in the Keller tournament.

Who did Richland loose to and in what round.
