Hastings is tied for the 3rd seed with Cinco who is playing Katy. K-Taylor is 1 game back and needs a win against Hastings. Big ramifications on whether Katy goes D1 or D2. It's a great weekend for football in 195a. What are your thoughts.

I am so tired of the Strake thing. Can we leave that arguement out of this thread unless you have comments about its impact on the 3rd seed. Who really cares about a co-championship in district.

I've never really deciphered what katy fans want, Division 1 or Division 2?

Also, Division 1 is the smaller bracket with the largest schools, right?

Thats right Strake, the school with the largest population in the 3 playoffs spots goes D1 and the other 2 go D2. If K-Taylor gets the 3rd spot they go D2 with you because the have have smaller pop. than Katy. Now if Cinco or Hastings gets the 3rd spot they go D1 because they are bigger than Katy. So if Taylor gets past Hastings and Katy wins then it still up in the Air. I think, I'm not for certain.

I was just trying to focus on the Hastings-Taylor game. Everybody knows the the Truth about Strake. Let's say Hastings wins out and Strake loses the rest. Would the fact that Strake didn't play Katy have any bearing on the rest of the district. I would like to talk about that rather than a shared co-championship.

I think Hastings is finally getting it together a bit....they will make the playoffs...that's about it. I expected more from Elsik with they talent that they have.....

I dont think Hastings is going to be able to handle K. Taylors defense......

I think Hastings may just pull if off if they can control the turnovers... They held tight against Strake and have improved both weeks since... The SJ/Hastings game was really a defense/defense plus turnover game... So was the SJ/Taylor game... I think Hastings might just pull it off if they're hungry enough...

I thing K. Taylor should be able to handle Hastings. Hastings makes to many mistakes and Taylor should be able to pull this out like they did against Clear Lake.

19-5A's third playoff spot is still as clear as mud.
K.Taylor should be able to handle Hastings but the Taylor QB has a sore shoulder from being injured during the Strake game. Taylor forced 4 turnovers against Strake and couldn't capitalize. This could be another defensive game like Taylor/Strake.

Carl,

I guess we were both at the Strake-Taylor game. It seemed to me Taylor played most of the game as if they could win it at any time (sorta like USC has been doing in their 1st halves this year) When Strake went up 10 Taylor's game improved immensely as they started playing with a sense of urgency. If Taylor can carry that over, and I think they will because they're pissed now, then I think they can beat Hastings pretty soundly. Just my opinion.

I didn't guess, I saw you at the Strake-taylor game... It was on your shirt pocket, remember?

There is an imposter in Katy and I must alert KT2000 and others.

I was sitting on Taylor's side wearin' a white tank top (with no pockets) and an Astros ball cap.

Well, I guess I didn't see you then. Nevermind that, do you agree with my assessment of KTaylor for this week?

Taylor CAN win it but as I stated earlier, their QB was injured in the Strake game and I don't know how much his shoulder will bother him. Hastings defense has stiffened since before their game with Strake. It's too close to call. In other words, your guess is as good as mine. It would be easier to call if those two teams were more consistent. We'll just have to wait and see which game face the two teams will be wearing that night.
The only 3rd place team that's really showing something is Cinco Ranch. I think they scored 35 and 30 points in their last two games while holding their opponents to zilch. Who knows, Cinco may give Katy a game like Taylor did in the first half.
