Does this mean they'll finally beat Lufkin? :p

Uhhhhh...no!
Having expectations and fulfilling expectations are two totally
different things. Ask the Astros.

Nothing new Longview, most good programs have high expectations going into a season. I believe you could read similar newspaper articles for Katy, Lufkin, Southlake, Tyler Lee, Abilene, Smithson Valley GP North Shore and others. Longview has been talking this stuff for three or four years. They were talking last year before they played Lufkin about how they had Southlake figured out and would beat them for the state championship.
Only problem, they had other business in Lufkin they didn't handle in the third round.
I think Longview could be a favorite this year, but they will need to prove it on the field. All the pressure is on them to get it done this year, because they don't have the talent pool behind this group. Longview will go as far as Vondrell McGee's legs will carry them, their ulimate down fall will be coaching.

I'd like for the Lobos to match the hype, but it's hard for me to believe it. They were in the Top 5 all year last year and still went out the same way.

Well, I hate to speak up after they pounded us in the 1st round a few years ago, but to be honest, they haven't proved it since the 1930's. They better concern themselves with winning 15 or 16 games, one at a time, instead of all the pontificating.

pontificating?
Dude I think you wondered onto the wrong board.
The Scrabble forum is two blocks up from here.
Dang..that was like a 25 dollar word. Good one dawg.
I gotta work that one into a post.
Right after I find out what it means...

Looked it up.
Outstanding adjective...
To express opinions that cannot be proven in a dogmatic way...
Yes! I learned my word for the day...now I can go to bed.

Isn't that what the Pope does when they don't want to tell us what he's really doing? :D
Where's the Pope? He's pontificating!
OK, it means to express an opinion in a dogmatic way. That sounds like me! :D

I agree with that last sentence fully. reminds me of Memorial last season. all-american RB but a coaching downfall in the playoffs.
