QB Sam Carter – Houston Sharpstown (6-1, 205)- Carter, who moved to Houston from Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina, is already a two-year starter for the Apollos. He showed great improvements as a passer in 2007, throwing for over 2,000 yards and 23 touchdowns. He is a very dangerous threat running with the ball as well.
Another Nawlins' boy(I think)-not 100 percent sure...Anyone see him play or know much about him?...AND, does he have any video floating around?...Thanks...
Carter has some pretty lofty college choices in his profile-he that type of kid?

Not knocking him at all but the level of competition he's playing in HISD is on the Jr. High level. I've seen news clips of him and he seems very athletic. The question is, is he a true QB or just a product of HISD who takes the best athlete and makes him a QB? For what it's worth, Joseph Addai played QB for the Sharpstown Apollos too....went on to LSU as a RB, and now starting for the Colts, so there is a light at the end of the tunnel, I would just like to see him against quality teams. Like I said, that's not a shot at him in anyway.

I agree that his picture on Rivals makes him look much older. I basically said the same thing in a post before I met him at the UA combine in Dallas. In person he looks like a Sophmore. Funny how a picture on a Website can be so differnet than in person.

Too bad Jackson Jeffcoat isn't transferring down to the Houston area while his dad works at U of H... he would have had fun down here. Unfortunately, he's staying at Plano West.

Unfortunately!? He's already made himself into a West legend, why would he leave?

Pretty much. I don't think he started every game as a freshman, but I'm pretty sure he started a good number of them.

Rivals says Oklahoma, Texas and somebody else, but I'm not sure. I'll check on it in a few and get a better answer.

You should have seen him against North Mesquite. He had five or six sacks that game and got really close several other times.

If you are looking at the Top Ten Texans to watch for 2010, you have to include:

Trey Hopkins - 6'3" - 260 lbs. - OT -North Shore
