That would have been a game..hahaha... Too bad things like that aren't possible..

As far as current, I would like to see this years Springdale Ark. vs. SLC or Longview.

1. 05 Katy vs 05 Garland seen em both this year it would be closer than most would expect and low scoring.

2. 05 Trinity Vs 05 Longview tru showcase of talent

3. 05 Carter Vs 05 SLC.......very interesting......the game would be a first of it's kind in a long time....smash mouth Vs air it out.........the victor would be the one with the better time of possesion and field position....T.O.P. edge-Carter....Field position-edge SLC(great kicker) " it's not hard to score when you only have half of a field to go"......interesting to say the least. So who knows.....anyone care to add on.....think about it...you have the biggest o-line in the state(carter) vs an A+ QB(SLC) who likes to air it out and has the weapons to do so.....Carter has a very swift and stingy D, but SLC D is pretty good too, often overloked because of the potent offense.

Carter Advantage: Using multiple runners 12 + per game(17 were used in one game alone already)..deep threat recievers and a micheal vick-ish type QB, Carter would match up pretty well ...at least I think. Although we would be underdogs....Could Carrol stop such a running attck, contain the QB, and endure the o-line?

SLC advantage: Using the hurry up offense which is executed almost to perfection(looks collegiate)...multiple recievers, RB to catch a D off gaurd that is too worried about the pass and that QB!!

this is a match-up I'd pay extra to see anyday!!!

I think it is great to see a bunch of new teams talking about the chance to play SLC. If SLC goes Div 1 then there will be a lot of new teams that the Dragons have not played before. I think it is great because there will be a whole new set of football fans that will get to see one of the finnest football teams and programs in the state of Texas. Any matchup with SLC would be great because that would mean that SLC has continued to win and has earned the right to defend its State Championship against all comers.

I would like to see Carter play SLC, two storried programs going at it for the chance to go to the Championship. Both teams have to do their part. I for one think SLC will be there.

the reason is because the Strake Administration decided to cancel this game after the hurricane and will probably tie Katy for the district championship because they have not played

LOL - Here we go AGAIN! Your MISINFORMATION may seem like semantics, but it does make a difference.

Strake did NOT decide anything. They voted AGAINST a KISD plan that would have had them playing 4 games in 16 days, lessening their chances at a playoff spot, especially because their make-up opponent would have been Katy. I'm assuming that's why they voted the way they did, but do not know for sure. Regardless, 3 other schools voted AGAINST the plan too and it was agreed upon before the vote that if it was a tie vote, the games would not be made up. The VOTE decided that the games would not be made up, not Strake officials.

well the strake officials did not want to play the games in the plan put forth, so I don't think what I said was wrong. I do think though that my information that I stated was misleading and I apologize for it. I should have mentioned that Strake and three others decided not to make up the games.

i think part of the issue is, except for strake voting nay, this matchup would have already taken place. strake controlled their own fate, and voted not to play. seems self-serving at best, and you can fill in the blanks as to what it seems otherwise.

i think part of the issue is...

It wouldn't even BE an issue if Strake had some losses in district. Right? I feel certain Katy fans aren't upset because they missed one more chance to whip up on someone. They get plenty of those.

So the "issue" must be the potential of tying for the district. Well, it hasn't even happened yet and Strake has two very tough games to go, so, WHY even worry about it? Besides... Even if Strake wins out it takes NOTHING away from Katy's team or what they've accompished. Does it?

I think the expectations at Katy this year are FAR greater than a district championship whether it says "co-champion" or not.

You say "self-serving" as if its a criminal act when in most situations, most are self-serving. I still believe YOU, or anyone else put in the same position as the Strake officials, would have voted to do (from your own mind) what you thought was best for your OWN team... Anyone that says they'd do differently is either being dishonest here, or too dumb to be making decisions... :)

I take exception to that " dishonest and dumb " remark StrakeDrake. Only thinking about your own self interest gets you nowhere. All your post seem to be of a victom mentality. Look, look at me, I'm a private school and I made it in the big leagues. Show me some respect, give me my reward. Please include me with the powerhouses when speaking of greatness.

This years:

Katy/Lufking- State Championship in DivII (I think this one migh happen,both teams are awsome this year)

ET/SLC- to see how ET does against a real power house

Longview/Lufkin- really want to see this one from all the talk

NS/Westfield- rematch

Lufkin-Cove just might happen in the quarterfinals.

The Westfield game against SLC-ET is a fair chance.

Hey, Katy-Lufkin could be a title game.

Abilene-SLC won't happen this year.

I like the HP-Texas High game. I'll have to root for the Tigers since I played against them in school.
