Just curious about different points of view on polls.

You have the Poll that comes out every Tuesday in the paper. The poll on here, Dave Campbell has a poll. The Harris poll( you see thes guys at a lot of playoff games.) Why do they not change so much in the regular season. When there should be probably a signifigant change.--Example when Longview struggled a couple of weeks ago and barely won their game against Rockwall, They didn't lose any ground in the polls. Why is that?
