It is that feeling you can't explain and you dont want to end. It is almost here and The season has been full of suprises. First you have Judson going from contender to pretender and out of no were emerges Euless Trinity that has took the nation by suprised. You have the Fall of Tyler Lee and the rise from there innner city rival John Tyler. A team that has been quiet all year and that does not get enough respect is Spring Westfield and that is hard to believe with them being ranked #2 all year. The real battle of the Pinywoods looks to be on the verge of taking off between Lufkin and Longview. Katy looks to have another state title apperance. I cant wait but there is still two weeks before the playoffs and this website will really be rockin.

Ya playing in the atmosphere is amazing. I did last year in the playoffs against Cedar Park. There was atleast 16,000 fans at this 2nd round game

battle of the Pineywoods is between Longview and JT next week at Lobo Stadium....we don't consider you guys Pineywoods material any longer---you have become known as a "Houston" area school now....you are hereby kicked out of the East Texas Club, INC as ordered by Bleedgreen...and you will be kicked in your teeth in about a month by us....sincerely yours, Bleedgreen(chairperson of East Texas Club, INC)

HA!HA!HA! very funny, You and UIL might can kick us out, but we still know where our roots are. We haven't forgot how to play Pineywoods Ball. ;)
Hope so see you in the playoffs, good luck until you meet the PACK!

I will experience the feeling next week when Rider takes on Old High here in Wichita Falls, or I might take the trip to Denison/Sherman to see the "Battle for the Ax"!

I guess the UIL took Lufkin out of East Texas to give the Longviews and other East Texas area schools a shot at the Title. :D

Don't forget about Plano. 0-10 just 2 years ago now predicted being 10-0 this year. That's quite a turn-around.

I know you are joking but Longview has more district titles than Lufkin and just as many state championships. :D

You guys have been running up some nice numbers, but I still get the feeling that your playoff run will be short.

I'm mad at Old High for being a fraud and not playing like they were expected to. Then again, it was Abilene Cooper and Hirschi that they dominated! :D

I don't view Trinity as a newbie. Ever since 2002, I've expected them to be hard to beat before the semis.

He's either joking or keeping his analysis to this decade. When was Longview's last district crown in the old district? '97? The Lobos finished third in the round robin mini-district both years. If JT had not been down both of those years- who knows, maybe Longview finishes fourth out of four.

Well Lufkin has the overall series lead, and many more playoff wins, and more wins all time, and the longest winning streak when going head to head!! :D :D What now?? ;)

you are really killing us in the all time series, what is it? 1 more win.....man. LOL And your head-to-head streak isn't much more either. You Lufkin fans easily forget about the 80's and early 90's.

It also took a 9 game win streak to get you there. I would say before the streak Longview had a comfortable edge.

It's funny how good threads turn bad so quickly. The playoff atmoshphere is great, the play really steps up because every game is a must win. Last year, I was kinda disappointed that LP beat Longview but I couldn't miss a LP, SLC match up. Although we wanted LP to win, the best part of the game was when Luna had the ball and completely trucked a LP defender, and it seemed like EVERYONE on the SLC side said "BOOOM" right when it happened, and repeated it cause they showed the replay like a billion times. We could not help but laugh, it was too funny. Subsequently, when LP was getting back in the game, they got it back a little with a big hit, but that by far was the highlight. Does anyone remember that?

I just simply state the fact's rclisle!! It does not matter if Lufkin is 1 game ahead in the overall series and head to head that statement is still true. I am sorry if it hurt's. ;) Lufkin has many more playoff wins!! I say a come back from his statement jokingly and he get's all bent out of shape. :D Funny stuff!! It was only the truth sorry!!

Yes we do. That was our former qb turned db Ashford Ayers. To say he was not a big hitter would be an understatement. I was not surprised when Luna plowed him because Luna is a powerful runner. You had a powerful rb going up against a weak tackling former qb turned cb who do you think is going to win??
