We've all read all the stuff on the site about the possibility of Longview going D-1 and Mesquite Horn making the playoffs and so on...What is the most likely scenario? Will the 3 teams be Longview, Rockwall, and JT? Or could Horn steal Rockwalls spot and bump Longview to Division 1? What do yall think is most likely to happen?

Rockwall has to win 2 games to make the playoffs, and one of those games includes JT.
Horn only has one game they have to win, and that's against Lee - and Horn has 2 weeks to prepare for it. They have to have Rockwall lose a game to make the playoffs, but the chances are very good that Rockwall will lose at least one.
So just going off the percentages, my bet's on Horn to make the playoffs.

If Horn makes the playoffs, what implications does that have on L'View going D1 or D2?

So if Rockwall loses one game and Horn loses against Lee then Rockwall still goes? Correct? But if Rockwall loses one to JT and Horn wins then Horn goes. Thanks a lot for your help. I was curious as to what had to mathamatically happen for Horn to go.

The district enrollment rankings are
Rockwall-1
Longview-5
Horn-6
JT-7
Which means if Horn makes the playoffs over Rockwall then Longview goes D-1 and Garland would play Horn in the first round instead of JT.
So if Rockwall loses one game and Horn loses against Lee then Rockwall still goes? Correct?
yes that's correct.
This has already been stated several times, but to make it simple, it boils down to this........
Rockwall, Lee and Mesquite have 2 games left. Horn and NM have one, but NM is already eliminated.
Rockwall is in with 2 wins OR one win AND a Horn loss.
Horn is in with one win AND a Rockwall loss.
Mesquite is in with 2 wins AND 2 Rockwall losses AND a Horn loss.
Lee is in with 2 wins AND 2 Rockwall losses.
The chances of these scenerios happening, in my opinion, favor Horn, Rockwall, Lee, Mesquite - in that order.
If Horn makes the playoffs, Longview goes Division I and JT takes the top spot in Division II.
If Rockwall, Lee or Mesquite make the playoffs, they will go Divison I and the Division II placement will be decided in the JT/Longview game. (Unless JT loses to Rockwall and beats Longview, then I guess the placement will be decided on a coin flip.)
I hope everyone understands this, it's about as simple as can be explained.

It doesn't matter with the scenarios because I am sure Myround0's pick to win the Division 1 Championship will be able to win out in their district. I mean Rockwall will run the table from here on out according to myround

I think Lee is finished!
I think Rockwall is just starting!!
Whoa....that sounds kinda kool, huh?!!...Like a Sylvestor Stallone action-flick! :D

I think you are right Rockwall is just starting..... This is definitely not Mesquite :( or Lee's year. The only team with a real chance besides Rockwall is Horn.

considering the teams involved I think all those scenarios are very conceivable. i won't be surprised in any case.
my guess is that horn loses to lee and rockwall beats mesquite. lview goes d2.

I think that Rockwall will lose to JT but I don't know enough about Horn (except that they have an amazing running back) to be able to predict if they will beat Lee. All I know is that Lee is definetly having a down year...

L'View would be a steep game for Rowlett if indeed the Lobo's go D1. It's going to be very interesting to see how this plays out these next 2 weekends.

Yea it would be very bad news for Rowlett if they played Longview round one...

I think Rowlett would give Longview all they want. This Rowlett team is a legitimate playoff team, and not one to be overlooked. Longview better not sleep on them...

Longview would also run into some problems with LV Berkner in the 2nd round. They don't pass much, but they have an amazing QB-RB running combo.

I agree with you Owlfan. Rowlett could take L'View if they executed perfectly and did what they need to do. However, I don't think Rowlett has faced a team of L'Views caliber (other than Garland, and Plano). I think it would be alot to throw them against a top 5 team in the first round. I'd much rather Rowlett build up to them lol..

OK Rockwall lost to JT...all signs point to Garland playing Mesquite Horn first round if they can get past Tyler Lee(who lost to Mesquite).

Not necessarily
Next week is the showdown for the district championship
If Mesquite Horn loses and Rockwall wins, that would put them at 2-4 and 3-3 respectively, meaning Rockwall would go to the playoffs.

OK is that not what I said? I said now that Rockwall lost, if Horn wins they will go to the playoffs...I said that the first time.

But Rockwall still has one more game. If they win, and Horn wins, Rockwall an still squeaks out by making up the deficit in their loss to Horn.

What?? That has nothing to do with it. If Rockwall and Horn win they would have the same district record however Horn already beat Rockwall this year which obviously give them the tie breaker...I know what Im talking about here.

Is it head to head tiebreaker?....I could've sworn Rockwall could still make it in the event both win and Rockwall overcame the deficit from the loss...I could be wrong.

I'm 99.9% sure that that's wrong. Posters from that district already gave all the scenarios that could take place and point differential had nothing to do with it, did u just make that up? I saw in another thread how you stated that Euless Trinity lost in the first round last year and I know you made that up so idk where youre getting your info?

Yes, I'm purposely sitting here making things up because that is what I do...
Is it possible that I'm just ill-informed....yes?
As far as the ET game goes, I was thinking of the previous year.
Why the attacks???

it will be difficult to beat lview on the ground. look for a pass team like Lufkin or SLC to beat us.

So for Garland and some of 12-5A, the Horn/Lee game is big.
For those of you who have seen Horn and Lee play - could y'all rate Horn's chances for us? All I know is that Horn has a good running back.

The way the district games have played out this year, and in keeping with current trends, a Lee victory would be a huge upset.
So I would fully expect a Horn victory, even though it could be a close game.

Horn's QB was VERY impressive against Longview. He gave our Defense fits all night. The kid can scramble and throw. Just didn't have anyone who could catch most of the time. They did have some big gains on the passing though. The run game was shut down for the most part, so they had to use the pass game.

Hmm...a running game being shut down against Longview?!? That sounds familiar for some reason...

If Longview loses to JT and Horn loses to Rockwall, guess who gets reunited in the first round?! You guessed it! The Garland Owls and the Longview Lobos.

IF Horn beats Lee this week, Horn is in as the D2 #2 seed and will play Garland. JT will be the #1 seed in D2 and will play SG (or Sachse). Rowlett will play Longview, who would go D1.
IF Horn loses to Lee, then the winner of Rockwall-Mesquite goes as the D1 Team and plays Rowlett. The winner of the JT-Longview game is D2 #1 seed and plays SG or Sachse, and the loser plays Garland.
Lakeview can still sneak in if they beat Garland and Sachse beats SG - the Patriots, in that case, would play the D2 #1 seed. Rowlett is the D1 team regardless of what happens, and Garland is the D2 #1 seed.
