longview's last chance?

I am just curious is this longview's last chance to be state campions or for the matter, beat lufkin. I was wondering how they are going to be in the upcomming years?

I think all Lufkin fans need to leave this alone. The Lobo program will always be competitive. Lufkin may be in Region 3 next year, but may schedule Longview in a non-district game at Abe Martin. So the rivalry will not end any time soon.

i try to get out, and they keep pulling me back in!! not this subject again.....we will be just fine....of course we will lose some valuable players to graduation, but we have enough talent here to reload and make another playoff run......may be a "rebuilding" year with all of the sophomores and juniors that we have coming up, but we will make the playoffs...especially with 3 teams going, maybe 4 from what i hear................taco---you worry about those taco-eating Panthers down there, we will worry about us--LOL......good luck to the Panthers on your title run............sincerely, Bleedgreen..............

Some Longview fans believe we will have a down year next season . . . down from this year's team . . . yes, but I believe we will be more than respectable, as a matter of fact I think we'll be pretty good with a young team (I believe we have some 68 sophomores on our JV) - meaning we'll have an opportunity to be really good (again) in 2007-08. Additionally, we have some really good sophomores and juniors getting a lot of playing time on this year's team. So, will we be down from 2nd, 3rd or 4th ranked(?), probably . . . but we'll always be a top twenty team in the state of Texas even in a down year. Example: Although we had a down year following our state championship run of 97, we still was the only team that managed to beat Duncanville (eventual state champions) in 1998.

Was LP good after the loss of Mcneal? What about after Lane left? Same situation here in Lview, tons of talent and good coaching...we will be competitive next year.

I dont understand where this is coming from. Its been discussed on this board before. They may be a little down next year but Longview and the high school are not getting any smaller, are they? Its not like they will lose players to Pine Tree or Spring Hill.

Dude, I'm about as hard-core as it gets, but you're crazy for not sitting on the Longview side. Hold to your guns on the cheering part. You can't be a hypocrite.

I went to the Judson-Clemens Bi-District game with my Clemens friends last year and he said I had to sit on the Clemens side. I gladly sat over there with my Judson stuff on and made all kinds of commotion during the game; loving every minute of it. Being over there was better than sitting on the Judson side! :D

She sounds like an OK girl and I'd just leave her alone. If she's that committed to the Lobos, just let her have her team and be thankful she likes sports. My wife acted like it was a crime that I wanted to go to games. I'd have to go to stuff by myself because she didn't want to go.

that and Rita helped in an odd way. It brought the team together. They really believe they wont be stopped from making the playoffs, same attitude the 2003 team had when we went 3 deep in the REAL season.
