Taking off on Lonny's idea.... Almost halfway into the season -- this die-hard NFL fan finds the season almost funny it's so mediocre - consider.....

1) The Houston Texans were tied with Indy at the half 14-14, despite Carr only passing 3 times. Of course in the second half, Carr was sacked three times in a row, fumbling on two of the sacks.

2) At 0-6, the Texans are only 2 games out of the playoff hunt. In fact, 2-4 puts you square in the divisional race in every conference but the NFC East.

3) The Cowboys are 4-3 and in last place in their stout division. Only two unbelievable collapses more reminiscent of a high school team keep the Cowboys from being 6-1, but they are in last place - deserving given their idiotic collapses in two games.

4) The winner of the NFC North could easily be 7-9, maybe even 6-10. Seriously, who in the division is lame enough to win it? How about the 1-5 Packers?

5) The Cowboys and Chargers both lost games yesterday on basic field goal attempts. The Eagles block a kick and return it for a TD against the Chargers, who have figured out a way to lose 4 games by 12 points.

6) No lead is safe enough for the squirrly Broncos - they blow another huge lead (almost as bad as the Boys) and lose to the Giants on the final play.

This league is worse than parity - any team that can string together a couple of wins right now may be a Super Bowl contender.

I much prefer the NCAA version - where the sportswriters decide the National Champs.

I was going to do something like that (but only fire the NFC North). OMG, up to yesterday nobody had won a road game. With Detriots triumph yesterday, these guys are 1-10 on the road. They suck! And the biggest sucking sound is coming from my Packers. HTH does a poor NFL team take a 17-0 half lead and blow it to an equally poor NFL team. The Pack started 1-4 last year and managed to get it together, but this year, with injuries, I fear will be different. The suckage may well last...

Yes - the North will be scary from here on out. Green Bay lost Ahman Green and Ferguson for the year - ouch! Division champs - I say the Bears or Lions at 7-9.

Cowboys fire their kicker - lol -- did he single-handedly lose the game?

I'm telling you this stuff is too funny and too good.

SLOPPY SLOPPY YEAR! It all started with the TO crap in the Preseason! Thank god for College Football or the sport would get boring! Only good thing is my Broncos are pretty good minus the slip up yesterday to Eli/Cry Manning and the Giants!

No, he didn't...couldn't have. A team is supposed to cover for one of it's teammates. The team shouldn't have allowed them to get into that position in the first place. So just cause Bledsoe threw that pass, did he single handedly lose it? No, cause he led them. And Cortez did hit a field goal to make it 10-3.

Do I think Cortez is a bad kicker? No. Do I think he is a HORRIBLE kicker? HECK YES. I can understand missing a 50+ but a 28?!?! Ah well, it's the Cowboys....and I totally wore out the phrase "How about them Cowboys!" today :D

Hey, I do the firing around here! :D

Yes, the NFL is bad this year. I do think the Cowboys will keep getting better and start winning more games.
