I know Longview and John Tyler have the top 2 spots sewn up but is 3rd place coming down to Rockwall and Horn?

Rockwall is 2-2 in district with John Tyler and Mesquite left (but they lost to Horn)
Horn is 2-3 in district with Tyler Lee left (but they lost to N.Mesquite)
Mesquite is 1-3 with Tyler Lee and Rockwall left.

Any ideas on how you think this will finish out? If Horn makes it that will send Longview to Div. 1 which would make things interesting. Garland would then get to open against Horn and SG would play John Tyler in 1st round.

Looks like a slight nod to Horn maybe - I didn't realize they had already beat Rockwall. I'm on the JT bandwagon - hope it keeps rolling - these guys look very solid. I do think Longview beats JT - but I would give a slight edge for Horn over North - and Lee may have already packed it in -- sad indeed - maybe the Raiders get it back together to wrap up. JT wins this week though.

I thought Horn was going to forfeit for playing an person who was not suppose to be playing?

I guess I forgot Tyler Lee. They are 1-3 with Mesquite and Horn left to play but they have a loss to Rockwall. Rockwall, Horn, and Tyler Lee could all end up 3-3 in district and it wouyld go to points.

Sounds like the Horn/Lee game will be the deciding game - assuming Horn beats North - which I won't assume.

While I won't bank on it - I will chuckle quite loudly if JT beats Longview. The Longview gang appears more than sure they have district in the bag<---- See Bleed's previous post.

One of those teams in 12-5A is 1-4 in district... :o

Hasn't exactly gone the way we had hoped. I would say Rockwall has enough talent to go third if they can beat the Skeeters. I'll be pulling for our three representatives regardless. Bring 'em hell! :)

you're a gracious fan, one of these days when Lview is down and NM is whooping us take it easy on us Lobo fans. As far as the 3rd spot goes the next two weeks will be interesting. If Rockwall and Lee win this week it will come down to the last week which will be exciting. I'm not even going to try and explain anymore than that b/c I am still confused about it myself. lol

This is what Smoaky posted on another thread, and is the current playoff situation for 12-5A

Mesquite Horn (2-3), Rockwall (2-2), Mesquite (1-3), and Tyler Lee (1-3) are all still in the playoff mix, and unless I'm wrong, Rockwall is the only team (not including JT and Longview) that currently controls their own destiny.

Mesquite Horn:
Horn is 2-3 with one game remaining against Lee (11/4). Horn is in if they beat Tyler Lee, and Rockwall loses one of their last two games (@ JT, vs. Mesquite). Horn already own wins against Mesquite and Rockwall, so they own head-to-head against those two already.

Rockwall:
Rockwall gets in is by winning their last two (@ JT and vs. Mesquite). They cannot get into head-to-head with Horn, and if Tyler Lee was to win their last two, Rockwall owns head-to-head against Lee, and would also have beaten Mesquite giving Mesquite at least 4-losses.

Rockwall can also get in if they lose to John Tyler on October 28th, beat Mesquite on November 4th, and Tyler Lee beats Mesquite Horn on November 4th.

Mesquite:
Mesquite can get in if they win their last two (vs. Tyler Lee, @ Rockwall), Rockwall loses their last two, and Lee beats Mesquite Horn. Mesquite beating Lee would give Lee at least 4-losses, and then if Lee beat Horn, Horn would have four losses.

Tyler Lee:
Tyler Lee can only get in with one scenario...they win their final two games (@ Mesquite, and vs. Mesquite Horn), but only if Rockwall loses their final two games (@ JT, vs. Mesquite). That would make Lee 3-3, Rockwall would have four losses if they lost their last two, and a Lee win against Mesquite and Mesquite Horn would give each of them a minimum of four losses.

I'm sure I've missed something, if so please advise.

I personally think Horn has the best chance of getting in the playoffs right now. I hope they make it anyway, cause it will send Longview to Div I and will give JT an easier road in the playoffs..... at least till they meet up with Lufkin. But really, it's a total toss-up at this point, cause I'm still not convinced it's a given that JT will handle Rockwall, especially after what they did to Longview. And even with Lee, I have no idea what's up with them..... but I think either their season has ended and they'll go 0-2 the rest of the season, or they'll rebound, go 2-0, make the playoffs and play for a couple of weeks.

There is no way Lee and Horn could end up 3-3 in district. Horn is 2-3 right now and they play the final week. If lee wins their last two they will be 3-3 and if Rockwall splits their final two, they will be 3-3. Since Rockwall beat Lee they will go to the playoffs. If Horn beats Lee and Rockwall splits then Horn will be in the playoffs since they beat Rockwall. Sending the Lobos to D1.
