I was a junior in high school when that SI arrived. Our varsity bball team would go on to the Final Four in Austin that year - beating FW Dunbar in an epic upset in the Regional Finals.

Sidney Moncrief and the Triplets - coached by Eddie Sutton were awesome and would get nipped by Larry Bird and Ind. State in the Semis.


Magic and his Spartans would give Bird his first defeat in a year in the Finals.

Awesome time to be a hoopster.
