Week 9 Projections (http://www.5atexasfootball.com/stateplayoffs.htm)
It's starting to fall into place, but there are still some significant moves that could be made. Longview and Katy are two teams that still have scenarios taking them to Div. 1 or 2 as does Southlake Carroll. In 26-5A, Madison could go Div. 1 depending on whether or not Reagan can get that last playoff spot. That will likely be decided this week when Reagan plays Churchill. Remember, under the revised enrollments compiled by the UIL Clemens will be Div. 2.
Post any questions/comments in this thread.

If you aren't getting the updated brackets, hold shift and hit refresh and that should get the new brackets loaded.

South Grand Praire is 7-1 not 8-0

I changed that before posting the brackets. I have them showing up as 7-1 in my browser. Hit refresh. Weird, I didn't save it with them 8-0.

Thanks for doing this. It is so great that we can get an up to the week, "if the season ended today" scenario. And seeing my Cy-Fair Bobcats in the bracket makes it even sweeter. :)

I believe he is done for the year.
PS Player of the Week for Region IV say
MARCUS WRIGHT
RB, SA Reagan
vs. SA Jefferson
should be SA Roosevelt
Also, sometimes forget to print your top 25; would be nice to have your previous rankings with the new each week...so I can see where the winners and losers move, or dont move.

We have the best editors in the world on this site. I'm serious. Anytime something is posted, we get the corrections almost immediately. I could put something on a hidden page, and I'm sure someone would find it. Not being a punk at all, yall have eagle eyes.

Your 24-5A rep is wrong. Clear Brooks loss to Alvin eliminated them from playoffs (3-6 overall & 2-3 in district). Alvin holds the tie breaker in that matchup and even if Brook beats Lake they still can't go, so currently Alvin is the 2nd rep from 24 in D2.

We had Brook as 3-2 in district after this week for some reason. Guess we got a bad score in there somewhere. Alvin better hope Clear Creek loses both of their games so they won't lose a head-to-head tie break. Alvin closes with Ball and Pearland. That's probably two losses, and Clear Creek can tie them if they beat Brazoswood in Week 10. Creek would go if they tied because of their head to head win over Alvin.

KT2000, Midland Lee's record is 4-4 and not 5-3. The Rebel fans will probably tell you that 5-3 is what their record SHOULD be. :)

You guys have an error with 10-5A:This 10-5A latest standings:
10-5A
School District Overall PF PA
Richardson Berkner 5-0 8-0 252 123
Carrollton Creekview 4-1 5-3 205 154 lost to LH
Lake Highlands 4-1 5-3 222 164 lost to Berkner
Richardson Pearce 3-2 6-2 200 181 lost to LH and Berkner
Jesuit 2-3 3-5 180 276
Carr.Newman Smith 1-4 2-6 202 236
Richardson 1-4 2-6 181 190
Carr.R.L. Turner 0-5 1-7 128 315
Creekview only has 1 district loss to Lake Highlands. You have them with 2 district losses. They will be playing Pearce this week, which will determine the 3rd place team assuming Berkner sweeps as expected.

The 15-5A third place team scenario is a mess! Can anyone clarify? I hope it is McNeil and if not them, Georgetown.

PC version:
The road to the Championship for Trinity/SLC would probably be
SLC/Trinity
Mansfield Summit
Duncanville
Berkner or Longview(if it happens)
and finish with North Shore or Westfield for the Championship.

it seems to me that it will be Round Rock, though any of the 4 could claim it if they want to. I think the Rock and Georgetown win their last 2 each but the Dragons have the tiebreaker based on head-to-head.
right now, it's McNeil based on the net points tiebreaker

The folks out in Midland are wanting to atone for their early exit last year when they lost to Mansfield Summit. It could also set up a potential re-match with Southlake if both of the teams win out.

Think you for the corrected (PC) version of the possible playoff march to the State Championship in Div 1.

Looks like if these brackets play out(they almost assuredly won't) that Trinity and SLC would smack the crap out of each other, but then have a smooth ride to the Region I championship.
I almost hope that it does, because whoever wins that game deserves a little bit of a break.

So what has to happen for Katy or Longview to go D1?
Katy needs Katy Taylor to get the last playoff spot in 19-5A and Longview needs Mesquite Horn to take the last spot in their district. Both are strong possibilities in my opinion, but nothing is guaranteed when it comes to the last couple weeks of the reg season.

I think Midland Lee will beat Summit. They have a chip on their shoulder and they want to make amends for last year. I'd like to see a re-match between SLC and Lee anyway. :D

Yeah alot of people tend to comment on Trinity, depite obviously only seeing them on a few cutups on a high school show. I imagine thats true to some to degree of every team, hence this entire site is here. Thats also something I find very true of when people comment on SLC.

I just think seeing is believing in ET's case. No matter what has been said when someone sees one game. I have seen all of them and am amazed over and over at the spirit the team and fans have and the way Nance and Handy run. Also, have some other good ones who don't start. And Trevor is very underrated.
