This is just so horribly awful. Any time a young life is lost, it's tragic. But this was so utterly senseless, and what an amazing young lady she must have been. To have her brilliant future snuffed out by some lowlife cretin just makes me sick to my stomach.

And just before the UNC/Duke game at Cameron.

It's going to remind a lot of people of the UT/A&M game right after the bonfire collapse. Let's see if the Cameron Crazies can show some love for their archrivals, just as UT did so magnificently in College Station back in 1999.

Campuses need to be safer - kids are out at all hours getting things done - very sad and shocking.

I also read the link about the Auburn freshman who was shot and killed. Both of them were assaulted off campus. I can't understand why anyone would shoot someone randomly....just disgusting.

It is sad how little regard there is for human life. Sickening on multiple levels.

Though the rivalries are intense in the sporting arena, the Research Triangle schools are closely knit. I believe these institutions will band together in support of the Tar Heel family.

both kids were from Georgia. One from Marietta and one from Athens.

Both in my prayers
