Scout.com has updated their prospect rankings for what's it's worth....I'm slightly pissed at Scout.com....Scout dropped Michael Ford to 4 stars, but moved up Reuben Randle to 5 stars(who was 4 stars at scout)....I guess Louisiana can't have three 5 stars kids in the same year....Ford will surely be a 5 before it's over.....Anyways, the world according to Scout.com so far...Be interesting to see Rival's ranking when they update....

I wonder also how many "ships" Texas gonna offer this year...Seems like Texas might have this thing wrapped up in a couple months...

Not much more. The original estimate was around 17, but like most years, that is likely to grow to closer to 20 as there will probably be some of the usual attrition. Mack had a select few targets... Gilbert, Ashcraft, Whaley, Timmons, etc., and he nailed them down early. He still has a couple he really wants, but outside of probably McFarland, the ones he really wanted are already on board.

Similar to LSU this year...LSU suppose to be in 20-22 range....
Truth be told we really haven't gotten anyone I expected though(other than Ford and Jackson), I know it's early....Alot of talent over here just hanging around and waiting....There are still 5-7 Louisiana kids I want at LSU this year...I'm sure Les does too....Hope we can get them(don't see why we can't)....

Gonna have to check the books and see the last time the Tigers dipped into Hawaii...(lol)...LSU hasn't offered, but Hilliard's film don't look bad...
http://vmedia.rivals.com/IMAGES/PROSPECT/PHOTO/DALTONHILLIARD2_11150.JPG
Dalton Hilliard
All-purpose back
Honolulu (HI) Punahou..
Ht: 6-foot-0
Wt: 183 lbs
Forty: 4.5 sec
Bench max: 270 pounds
Vertical: 37 inches
Class: 2009 (High School)
Dalton Hilliard is the top running back in Hawaii
Hilliard, 5-11, 180 pounds (no relation to the former NFL RB with the same name) is one of the top backs in the West. He's an explosive player, very quick with the ability to make you miss and is tough to bring down in the open field.
"LSU is my top school right now and I also like Notre Dame, Colorado, UCLA and Florida, that would be my top five. At this point, I'm not sure what camp's I'll be attending. I know I'm going to the PIAA combine here in Hawaii as well as the NIKE Camp at Stanford.

Also, don't really worry about scout.com's rankings. They had Justin Johnson as the #2 RB and Calhoun as the #3. I think their system is garbage.

The way you made it sound, I was expecting a much bigger hit. It was nothing more than a good tackle, not to mention the score was a runaway for the Vikings. Not to mention Scout ranked Jeff Byers over everyone in that class.

Byers is the guy who has been injured his whole time at SC correct?
Are the rating services supposed to project potential injuries?

Jeff Byers was a 5 Star center prospect-ranked #1 at center per Rivals....#20 over-all in 2004...
Willis wasn't even in the top 100 in 2003 per Rivals....Ain't either one of them perfect in my opinion....Rivals or Scout....Just saying Willis ain't bad for a 3 star...
Other honors earned at the conclusion of his first season out of college included being named the NFC Defensive Rookie of the Year, NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, and First Team All-Pro by the Associated Press. He was the only rookie in the NFL to make the AP All-Pro squad and the first Defensive Rookie from the 49ers to make the Pro Bowl since Ronnie Lott in 1981.

Yes. No. And that's still no excuse for putting Byers ahead of Peterson coming out of high school.

No doubt, neither service is gospel. And Willis is a beast. You just had me expecting a bigger hit, that's all.

I thought it was a pretty good tackle....When you knock AP sideways at that angle you playing some ball....Just my opinion...
Willis(Ole Miss) > Vincent(LSU)....:)

Blame Rivals for not knowing that Willis would get great coaching in college and work really hard to become a top 15 pick... how could they not know that, pathetic. There are flops and there are surprises, Willis was a surprise.

Not saying this was the case for Willis but...
Ole Miss takes chances on tons of players with grade or criminal problems....they would give a scholarship to a murderer/rapist/crackhead if he could play football.

Maybe he played at a small school, maybe his film wasn't impressive, don't ask me. Stars mean nothing once the guy is on campus though, and you still must compete.
