The Texas schools cleaned up at the championship meet this weekend in Austin. Texas placed first in men's and second in women's, Texas A&M placed 2nd in men's and first in women's. Both schools have pretty good chances to finish at or near the top in at NCAA's as well.

UT used to be a write in for conference championships in both men's and women's (and almost for NCAA championships). Eddie Reese is a legend in the sport, both for his accomplishments at UT and as an Olympic coach for the USA Swimming juggernaut.

They are still dominant on the men's side but A&M has been closing the gap quickly on the women's side. This is the second year in a row that the Aggies have won conference.

It's really too bad that only three teams in the Big XII even have men's swimming anymore. Title IX has been the death of sports like swimming and wrestling for men.
