i was on the road earlier with a few friends, and we were kind of by dragon stadiumish, like i can see it from where we were, and i began to think, if anybody breaks into dragon stadium, from what i was told, my friend works at the stadium, he does the camera, or score board, and also helps with getting the stadium ready for the regular season, he told me people break in and just throw those plastic dragon cups around (like you buy from the concession stand), he said they just pick htem up and throw them out, other than that theres really nothing else, im curious if other schools have stuff happen to their stadium also, one thing i notice at dragon games that are played at dragon stadium, do we have like a hired security company come out, i see people with the DmZ or something like that shirts all over ish, and they got the polo shirts and slacks on and look all important, i wonder why we hire people instead of just using cops or volenteers

Don't know if GPISD Stadium has ever been broken into though I'm sure someone has or has atleast tried to get in and do something, As far as security at games go there are constables staioned at various places through out the stadium. Most are under the stands to cut down on the loiterign that goes on and some are usually stationed around or near the gates as well as in the parking lot. Though I have rarely seen them do much more than stand aroudn talking with each other or other school employees.

Bulldawg Stadium in Copperas Cove has these sensor alarms at the four corners of the field(outside of the track)....it sends a sensor diagonal across the field and through the track....if the sensor is broken, then the alarms go off and all heck will break loose.... :D

i'm thinking DmZ is cheaper then cops. To rent a police officer it is $25 an hour.

The DMZ company is there because of the total sell out of Dragon Statdium. This company makes sure that the Students and Facilty get to set in the seats that were set aside for them. Also they are there to take care of any disputes that might occur over the Reserved Seats and the General Admission sections. There have never been any incidents but are there to act as users. There are also lots of policemen because of the amount of people that come to each game. The Dragons usally have 7 to 8 thousand at every game.

what the hell was the question?

Rhodes Stadium has a bazillion cameras in it, on it and around it. More cameras that speakers. If someone breaks in, the police will be there in minutes.

I don't know what the question is, but that's my answer. ;)

Oh do I have a story for you. Last year before the Humble vs. Kingwood rivalry game, Kingwood came to our stadium and burnt KHS in the middle of the field. We then let our actions speak for themselves and beat them 28-0. The year before that they messed up our baseball field pretty bad. They burnt Kingwood in the outfield and put obscene things on our fence. We usually just lock things up for a while, but by the next year things return to normal. Kingwood hasn't done anything this year, but hey there is still more time.

Not really on topic here but had to share it. Late one night recently I went over to a buddies house who is a diehard OU fan. I lean more towards the UT burnt orange myself. He and his family were all in bed so I proceeded with a little prank. I sprinkled rye seed in the shape of a big UT sign in his front yard.
We'll get to see how it turns out here in a couple of weeks. HeHe. :p

I thought the Turner field was Kingwood's home field as well, so what's with the 'our stadium' bit?

the evil Dr. Strangelove! I'm gonna remember that the next time I'm in SLC. I have some friends there that I know just love UT and might end up with Baylor University spelled out in the front yard!

It is the home of both schools so I don't know why he would refer to it our their home field. I guess last year they were the home team. or it could be a case of even though they share the stadium seeing that it is on the Humble campus they claim it as theirs rather than a shared one.

Burning KHS in the middle of the field is still vandalism, trespassing, etc. but I was amused by the 'our field' comment and attribute it to possession; it's on our campus which make it our field.
