Current Midwestern St. DL freshman Jeff Williams was T-boned by a drunk driver and is in serious condition in Wichita Falls. Jeff is a great kid and was a true leader on the 2006 Panthers D.
He didn't start until his senior year, but came on strong and got a scholarship to Midwestern. He has a broken pelvis and remains in an induced coma. He has a supportive family - please keep Jeff in your prayers.

Last I heard, which was yesterday morning at church, they were taking him off the medicine induced coma but were going to keep on the ventillator. He is doing a little bit better and they expect him to recover 100%, but it's going to be a very slow process.
Btw, all tests came back negative for brain damage so praise God for that!

this is the latest i could find in the W.F. paper.
If any of you LP folks talk to his family, could you give us an update?
MSU football player in fair condition
A Midwestern State University football player was listed in fair condition Monday afternoon following a wreck Friday, according to a United Regional Health Care System official.
Jeff Williams, 19, a freshman football player at MSU, was taken to United Regional 11th Street campus after a Ford Mustang he was driving was involved in a collision about midnight Friday at the intersection of Southwest Parkway and Maplewood.
Brett Davis, 22, was a passenger in the vehicle with Williams. Davis was treated and released Saturday.
Williams suffered a broken pelvis and other major injuries, according to Wichita County court paperwork.
A man in another vehicle involved in the wreck was charged with intoxication assault in connection with the incident.

He was transported to Baylor in Dallas - where he is still in a coma. There is significant concern now about a brain injury. Please keep Jeff and his family in your prayers.

Here's the latest on Jeff Williams - please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers - thanks:
I got this update from Matt Adams Mom who went to visit Jeff this week:
Jeff was moved to a rehab hospital on Tuesday and will begin rehab on Wednesday. I took several of his friends to Dallas on Monday to visit him. His eyes were open part of the time we were there, and he focused on our faces and followed us w/his eyes some. He is not "our Jeff" yet, but he is making encouraging progress by breathing on his own and stabilizing enough to be moved out of ICU and into rehab. Doctors have told his parents that it will be at least a full year of rehab before we will know the extent of possible lasting effects of his brain injury. Pray for Jeff and his family as they begin this grueling process. Now we are past the crisis stage and into the long term rehab stage. It will be hard for everyone involved. Please send cards to Jeff. They will be displayed in his room, and he and his family will know that others have not forgotten them and are continuing to pray.
