Lufkin,s defense had another great game today. This was huntsville but the D did not allow any td,s.On the year the first team D has only givin up less than 60 pts. The second team D is not so sabby either.Should get the best test so far this week when Woodlands come too ABE. From what I saw on another thread Woodlands was having trouble with Conroe. It,s really hard to run on this 2005 defense so far. They seem to mix run blitz,s and pass blitz,s very effectively.Lufkin 38-Huntsville 6

another wacky obsessive comment from dragonnation?? Get a grip?? Like we care that you beat teams in your very weak district by 40 either?? All the realistic dragon fans have the ultimate respect for Lufkin after squeaking out 2 wins vs them but obviously you have issues??

Yea, I think Keller is ranked in the top 2000 in the dallas area. I Live here in Dallas and hate seeing dorks like him post on these types of topics. I like watching SLC play and I know from experience that they have some great fans, but they do have a few fans that are just too cocky and I can't wait for the day they lose because I am keeping up with who they are and will send all of them a big welcome back to earth e-mail.....

lufkin could beat teams by 50 or 60 if we left our starters in the whole game like slc or et. outlaw does not believe in running the score up on the other team he has respect for them. I have seen outlaw take out our starters as early as mid way threw 2nd and as late as end of 3rd.

Not to mention Lufkin has the worst 2nd string qb in the state bar none!! I hear the Jv guy is coming up and he is very talented but pray to God Claybon does not get hurt until then. Outlaw always has his 2nd string offense and defense very early in a blow out. I hate that he does it so early but he is not going to change for me.

but you got #11,#16 as the backups ;)
#16 came up thu the football system as a qb, just like #20 was came up a rb/lb.
believe me, that some of those players that start on offense and defense are playing different than when they where in the 7,8,9 grade. there is alot of talent on that team to make those adjustments. :)

Longview does that too and sometimes I wonder if its good or bad. I think it is bad b/c the players get used to being pulled early and might miss out on being conditioned toplay a full 3 qtrs. Why not leave the starters in and work on new plays or plays that you don't usually run. I guess one of the upsides is the starters won't get hurt.

I said it before the season started that he is not a good backup at all. Now he just confirms it every time he steps out on the field. Every time he does everyone is like "Oh No!" I don't expect him to be just like Claybon but you do expect him to get the job done. By the way King is a Jr. according to the roster. I hate to be rude but I can't wait to see the JV kid come in and back up Claybon. I hope they can find another way to utilize King because I am sure he is a good kid and a hard worker but it is obvious that he is not made to be a QB.

taco....JT has a little bit of both, but mainly a toss-sweep running type of offense with the entire line, including the QB, all pulling to one side or the other to lead the way for the RB---been doing that for years! but, this season, they have added a passing attack that has looked pretty good, so far.....everytime i see your username, i can't help but to start craving a Mexican pizza from Taco Bell.....with mild sauce, of course.........

dont know about the rest of you, but it does seem that hewitt may have lost half a step, but then again he did cover one of slc receivers step 4 step 1 on 1 with a torn ACL on a pass play during the playoffs and got the pick. was that j.mckay he was covering last year on that play.

If he did lose a half a step it is not showing much!! I am sure he is not completely 100 percent but he is scary enough at 90 percent. He was not even 50 percent when playing SLC last year. He had a completely torn ACL!! I am still amazed he played??

You know what i am going to say because it is the fact's. Hewitt was never beat by Drabek last year for a big play and rarely covered him. Drabek made one catch for 15 yards on Hewitt when he was covering him. I expect Hewitt to follow him all over the field this time. Should be fun to watch. The biggest play i have ever seen Hewitt give up in 2 years at cb was vs Klein and it was a 35 yarder. He shut him down the rest of the way.

That is a mistake several teams make. He can jump out of the roof and he just has a knack for the ball. I have never seen a fade work on him ever!! I would stay away from him if i was the o-coordinator. I might test him a little on short routes but you are playing with fire when you do it.

I actually hope TWHS challenges Leonard - he's not all-world - just one of the 2 or 3 best corners in Texas - he needs the work-out - lol.
And, Leonard actually is not small. He's pushing 5'11", maybe 5'10", around 180 and change. And, he plays taller because he can leap and he is so well positioned to the ball 90% of the time. When he's 21 he'll be 5'11" 200 - proto-type for a pro corner.
I guarantee you this kid plays big time Pro ball - I mean like potentially starting next year and in the NFL his rookie year. I have never seen such a ball hawk at the HS level - ever. 15 ints in just over one season, including missing 3 games to injury.
