Sounds like it's going to be a great game. I hope Trinity comes out on top and show those boys from Oklahoma how we play football here in Texas!

That would be a quick turnaround for Jenks, considering they are currently scheduled to play Bixby,Ok on 9/5.

I lived in Oklahoma from 1994 until 2001, then returned home to Texas. However, while I was there, I was able to watch several good meetings between Tulsa Union and Jenks (both were 6A). It seemed each year that one or the other was going to win the state title. Jenks will not be an easy win, but ET should be able to pull it out. I hope so atleast, that way I can give a hard time to my Oklahoma buds.

I've seen several of those meetings myself. Remember though, this is not a done deal!

Might want to check the Jenks web site. They have their 10 games scheduled and there is no Trinity on it.

I wouldn't be too sure.
What I have heard is that we (Trinity) are most likely to play a team from Utah.
I've heard it first hand.
But you know, everything can change in a split second, so what I am saying is not engraved in stone.
But I would put my money from what I have heard.
I DO go to Trinity, just to let you know.

Have you heard which Utah team, I know a couple having family up there that are pretty good. Bingham high, Alta, and Skyline are a couple I know of that have been pretty good lately.

Those Utah teams are huge and physical, but they don't have the edge speed to matchup with elite DFW schools....I hope http://www.5atexasfootball.com/forum/vB/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

I think I'll save my excitement until someone official announces the game. Until then it is unsubstantiated no matter who you claim to have heard it from. If it happens, great.

Ya i've noticed when i've seen their elite play they have huge lb's but your right about the speed as most teams up there are still in the old school offense i.e. wing T, wishbone, wing bone, etc. but ya def. physical I think it was last year or maybe the year before South jordan went to valdosta Ga. and beat the storied valdosta high on their home field.

and another thing up there is they do the haka also but make there own version of it like they had a bingham haka where they did different style and moves added to the original it was pretty cool. So if trinity does play a utah team be ready to not be the only team in the stadium that does the haka.

I have been informed just earlier today by Coach Lineweaver that there is a high probability that we will play Jenks.
So I assume that the out-of-state opponent that Trinity will most likely play is Jenks.

Welp....word today is that Jenks did not want to, or could not rearrange their schedule. So, that is that. Now we are on to private school from La. and I cannot remember the school name.

Curtis has a huge reputation. If Trinity could make the game competetive it would boost our national repuation.
The game Trinity doesn't want is the one being asked for by Bingam HS from Utah. Win or lose it's a win/win only for the school from Utah. Bingham, Alta, South Jordan or Timpview out of Utah are hidden gems.

John Curtis had a game lined up with Cottonwood, Utah in 2005....Hurricane wiped that game off the map.....Cottonwood I believe one of the stronger 4A teams out there....Those teams can play out there....
RIVER RIDGE — With the month of August almost here, only one month remains until week one of Louisiana high school football, and one — if not the most — intriguing games that week features PelicanPreps.com's top-ranked Class 2A John Curtis versus Cottonwood, Utah, which is led by LSU commitment QB Alex Cate.

I followed that Cottonwood Team they were semi finalists that year. The highest profile athlete was Stanley Havili who starts at Full Back for USC and their QB was a LSU recruit

I doubt Curtis be in any Top 10 next year....Maybe not even the Top 25 of these polls....
Wouldn't worry too much about that though....They will come to play if they coming....
Longview played JC last year. A very physical and discipline team. Very good fan support. Longview had nothing but good things to say about JC's football team and their fans. If Trinity gets to play them, you will definitely enjoy the game.

I'm not a big John Curtis fan( I respect them though), but I was hoping Longview come to Nawlins' this year...
I was noticing Longview still looking for a game on Sept 12, I believe...
How come they can't come?....Pretty sure JT wanted to play them again...

Yes we are still looking for a Sept 12 game and word around town is it doesn't sound like we will find one. So we may end up with only 9 games and 2 open dates:mad:
