Don't read further if you are recording.....

Liverpool has just put the nail in Inter Milan. Matterazzi sent off in the 30 minute and the scouse dominate the game. Huge 2-0 advantage going into second leg away.

Looks like Roma is holding on for a win over Madrid.

Chelski draw vs. Olympiakos in Greece.

I feel so stupid. I had no idea this was on TV. I guess that's what I get for not turning my TV on. However, Arsenal vs. AC Milan will be on ESPiN2 tomorrow. That I look forward to.

You may have just massacred an innocent, youthful thread with great potential to do something noble.

Disgusting, in fact. Utterly gorgeous. Kuyt's too.

I also want to take this time to point out my disdain for Materazzi.

Right after they said that the AC game was going to be on ESPN 2 they said the Man U game was going to be on ESPN2 at 1:45 also, but I hope the AC/Arsenal game gets shown instead.

My guide says they will be showing the Arsenal game, but we'll see I guess.

Quite. Two fantastic goals nonetheless. Typical of Gerrard to pull one out of nowhere like that.

You know, KT2000, I saw the niftiest shirt in London for the Liverpool club and I couldn't remember if you were a fan of them or another team. I was going to buy it for you but didn't want to insult you if you weren't! They have some awesome colors too. I am going back on March 14th and I'm taking a side trip to Liverpool (for the Beatles, not soccer) so let me know if I could pick you up a momento!!!

Gerrard's is ok. Kuyt's is ugly. the keeper misplayed the shot terribly. you never drop to your knees and you damn sure never fall backwards trying to make a save.

indeed. but the man is playing on the top level of competition in soccer, he should have at least gotten a finger on it. it almost looks like hes dodging the ball ha

Well, he plays for Inter Milan. The only thing that could make him suck any more is if he played for Chelsea.

His fault, not Kuyt's. Anyway, Intermilan appeared to struggle to clear when Liverpool threatened. Gerrard squeezed in a beauty that made what was barely a 1-0 win into a convincing 2-0 win.

I think Gerrard has Vlad Guerrero's bat for a right leg. The ball explodes on contact. That was a great goal and it was cleaner than the announcers made it sound. It hit the inside post with some big time velocity.

yeah, but its not like kuyt hit a beauty from 30 out and it went back door upper 90 now is it? kuyt mis-hit the ball and got lucky the keeper sucked worse than ou

You go too far. Admittedly, it was a very lucky bounce, but it was purty too.

yeah, people will watch a game and think that shot should have been stopped. not so, that ball was traveling upwards of 85mph when it crossed the 18 i guarantee it. we had a guy on my team in high school who would take his free kicks just like the pros. the only problem was he didnt realize that the velocity of a free kick on that level is equivalent to twice as hard as he could hammer a shot. the velocity they are able to put on their shots and crosses, and with such ease, is absoulutely amazing

CyFallsMom, is that where you usually travel to in London? I use to live there, in Notting Hill Gate, Near Holland Park.

I was actually staying over by the Tower Bridge last time (by Bermondsey) on Tooley Street in the Hilton but I was tubing all over the city and ended up at the Holland Park station so I hopped off there for a while. I am staying at the Kensington Hilton in March on Holland Park - nice neighborhood! Notting Hill Gate is nice too - this will be leisure and not business so I'm pretty hyped.

KT is a Barcelona fan. Don't ask me how that happened. Maybe it's a Katy thing.

Samuel Eto'o is in the line up today. The "Fantastic Four" of Ronaldinho, Messi, Eto'o and Henry are all on the active roster for the first time since August. They are still within striking distance in the Spanish league despite that. It's pretty remarkable (unfortunate for Barca supporters of course) those four have been injured most of this year.

It'll be interesting to see if Eto'o is fit enough to start today. I'd be satisfied with at least a point today. Celtic Park is a tough place to get a result.

I found an article with some amazing information regarding physical workrate for soccer players. It is based on Premiership stats.

Excluding track and field, I think the only sport that compares to soccer from a conditioning aspect is swimming.

Celtic Park is one of soccer's great venues IMO.

Parkhead is easily one of the best and toughest venues in world sport. On top of that, Celtic fans have a great reputation for traveling away (traveled 50,000 supporters to Barcelona earlier this decade), and have been globally recognized for their class. Celtic supporters are widely regarded as some of the best in the world.
