Word is that Sedrick Johnson (4* WR) just signed with Texas A&M. Apparently his LOI with Iowa St. was null & void. Crazy...

what would make a LOI null and void? I am just curious.

Ok, apparently his Dad is the one who signed his LOI, but his mom is his legal guardian, thus making it void. Never heard of this happening before.

I believe his mom wouldn't sign it. If I understand it correctly his dad whom he does not live with signed it. Probably off on that one a little.
Weird situation. What mom wants......

with a decision that big, both parents need to put aside differences (if that was/is the case) and get on the same page. JMHO
This appears to be a messy situation. No winners(kid/mom/dad).
Situation keeps turning.....
Reminds me of the Puttin on the Ritz song..
It's a$m, now Iowa State, now a$m, now Iowa State
Apparently 18 year olds can decide where they want to go to school, regardless of what mom wants, and that's that.

TexAgs has him listed as a signee on the front page, but I don't think anyone really knows what is going on. This is a messed up situation.
IMHO, Sherman and his A&M recruiter should have a sit down with the kid and whoever is his legal guardian. They should try and get a real good read on where exactly the kid wants to go and thinks he will be happy, without pushing him either direction. If it seems like the kid really doesn't want to be at A&M, then Sherm and Co. I hope would do the right thing and tell momma that they don't have roster space for a player who doesn't really want to be an Aggie. That should settle things.

Tough call I think. You might have a kid whose heart wasn't into it, but then again, I know there are many kids who may have questioned being somewhere initially, but ended up loving the place.
I don't know.
CedarHill Dad-It appears that way. Like I said yesterday this situation is just ugly for all involved and no winners.

Apparently the NCAA has told them that contact w/him or mom is a no no at this time.

Yeah, because J.R, Bryant's mom wanted him at Texas Tech and he went to OU, anyway.

I didn't want him at Texas Tech and he had an offer.

The Chronicle is reporting that Sed's original LOI is binding.

What a freaking mess. I hope it works out for the kid.
