Looks like it will be SV, Madison, & Churchill. Madison and SV for sure, Churchill has the best shot for 3rd. Although Reagan still has a shot. I Hate that my Rockets won't be there, but I'll be rooting for all these teams when the playoffs start. These teams need to represent. Not just the district, but the city and region. I know SV is not in SA but they are an SA area team. Now that the once mighty Rockets have fallen and won't be there, the rest of you guys need to pull up the slack. I know SV probably will, but I would like to see our other teams do something for a change. Everyone is rejoicing about Judsons demise. But remember, Judson has represented very well in the past, lets see how some of these other teams do. This is your chance, make it count!! Yes, I'm a Rocket fan, but if they are not there, I am a 26-5A fan.

I agree with what you say and I'm lifting the boycott. I'll even root for Madison!
It's not just about 26-5A though. I want SA and Region 4 to beat Houston and the other half of the state.

As a guy that has traded in Burnt Orange for Red more times than I care to count, I appreciate the comments. Every year there comes a point where you just have to go with the Region IV reps (and that usually means the SA area reps) in the playoffs.

Third place will be decided next week (sorry, i'm just naturally more concerned with that then SV and Madison)
SV and Madison will decide 1st and second.
If Mac beats Judson, and Reagan beats Churchill - Reagan goes to the playoffs I THINK.
But if Churchill beats Reagan, Churchill goes to the playoffs...cause then they have Lee.

I'm a little confused or it's too early on a Sunday morning. Why does Mac have to beat Judson? Doesn't Reagan take over third simply by beating Churchill? Or do you mean they clinch third if Judson also loses?
And if Madison and Churchill win, doesn't Churchill also have the inside track on second, with Madison clinching first?

The SV game is first place for the Rangers provided they could beat Roosevelt. My most likely first round looks like this:
D1: Madison vs Seguin
D2: SV vs Clemens
D2: Churchill vs San Marcos
With that scenario Madison would beat SV. SV loss would most likely put them against Clemens in the 1st round where a win would have them playing San Marcos in San Marcos since SV owes them a home game from last year.
The Reagan-Churchill game leaves it more wide open for the final spot. If Reagan wins there are a lot more scenarios for the final two spots provided SV loses as well.

That's the way I see it but it also clinches third for SV. Churchill would win out over SV because of the head to head result.

I don't know about that SM-Churchill matchup lonny, but I haven't seen Churchill. What are their strengths and weaknesses? As for SM, their formula works well as long as they don't fall behind a couple of touchdowns. Can Churchill score enough and consistently to stay ahead. Possessions become very limited against San Marcos, so you have to make them count.
As for SV-SC, it would be the same song, different verse, of the playoff rivalry the last few years. A very even, very entertaining, hard fought matchup pitting the supremely disciplined, fundamentally sound, balanced Rangers against the speedier, more athletic, run-oriented Buffaloes.
Mad-Seguin, I'll concede that one, at least till I see Seguin this year.

I feel pretty good about Madison winning.
The Clemens game could go either way, but I think SV is a little more ready for playing in the playoffs.
The Churchill game is the tossup. They have good defense, but don't have Fanuzzi playing QB. I gave them the advantage because they've been getting up for big games.

The Rangers didnt blow anyone out of the water last year, and they lost 2 games by this time instead of just 1. Madison was suppose to beat them last year, but the Rangers pounded them. However, this year is different, SV is not playing up to their potential, and they will not beat Madison next week. Madison, again, has better athletes, they are going to try to get revenge, and SV is just not playing well for some reason (that I dont want to say here).

San Marcos didnt lose to just ANY 4A school. Austin Connally (from Pflugerville ISD) was last year's Class 4A State Semifinalist. There is no shame in losing a last second game to that team.

I f Madison doesnt have a running QB were fine. The only game we lost ,was because we had a hard time tackling Fanuzi in the first half. The second half they got maybe 3 first downs. That was a game of halfs. They won the first half 14 -0,we took the 2nd 10-0.It was game that I think most of the players thought all they had to do was show up,and thinking of the next week game vs Judson.Just started to late. That second half on defense was almost as dominating on defense,as the 2nd half against Judson. We have 3 of our top defenders healed up,for this week.If we lose against Madison, which i certainly dont think we will, then maybe we are down this year.Hill is starting to play better, and Beyers is starting to become more of a factor again at wr.If madison cant pass the ball, there in trouble.

This should be a great game...I hope Madison shows up this year unlike last year. To Madisons advantage they're playing at SV where theyve been having a tough time winning. Madisons QB-RB threat should give SV a hard time, but I thought the same thing last year. Hopefully SV will be healthier than weeks past. If Madison can throw the ball and keep SV off balance they have a great shot but if they let SV control the line and pressure Caflish<sp? i think SV wins a close one.

When has SV made cheap shots? If your going to say that, let us know when it has taken place. As for the kneeling down, some do it, others dont. Its not going to help the situation one way or another, and the player on the ground doesnt know if they are kneeling down or not. But please, update us on these cheap shots. Make sure a flag was tossed on the claims you make too, otherwise they are legal and expected.

Sv plays clean. They hit hard and get excited. Please lets not start talking about kneeling for an injured player. It's a tired subject. On the Reagan football website, even their coaches talk about it not being a sign of disrespect if the other teams don't kneel. If people don't like us, it's becuase we win quite a bit, and they look for things to gripe about like, not kneeling, oboxious posters/fans, ect, that really don't reflect the team, program, school, or community.

lee had a close game with madison
16 is close? okay i'll give you that..., but Madison beat Churchill 31-10, that's why it is too hard to predict this district this year. Twice in the first half of the Madison Judson game, Madison had solid drives down to within Judson's 25 and came away with no points because of ball control errors. SV is capable of doing Madison in; but Madison is capable of doing Madison in also. If Madison doesnt make key errors they can hang with the best.

And you all are proud of this - this is a reason why people don't like you. You practically try to send players to the hospital. You sent a Mac player and then a Reagan player. And on top of that, you all don't stop talking or kneel down when the player is down - even though you hurt him.
we sent a guy in the mac and reagen game to the hospital thats how we roll
for the record im just kidding

Nothing but pride in that statement.

Come on, it's not something we try to do, it's just something that happens when a team plays hard. You still haven't been able to back up that post about us taking cheap shots. As for taking a knee, it looks like you're searching for things to hate us about. I've been taught that it's only a sign of weakness.

That's absolutely pathetic! If this is the way you feel the game is supposed to be played, you need serious help and I hope you get it! There is no way in hell that coach Hill would approve of this kind of garbage!
Just from this statement you must be in HS. There is no way that any adult would make a disgusting statement like that! One day you may have a son (if God blesses you with one), that you obviously don't deserve and maybe you will change your way of thinking!
And another thing, if you play which I seriously doubt, you will get what you deserve!

One would wonder how players mysteriously end up at the hospital. Are you out there to kill a person who, like you, is starting in life? Or are you to play a game ?
Plenty of schools who are tougher than you all take a knee, and I for one, will never look down to them like I do to teams that do not even respect their opponnents by taking a knee, possibly the smallest thing you could do. And plus, your fans don't even be quiet when a plyer is being examined. Why does that matter? It shows the crowd actually cares about the injured player.

I find it hard to beleive that coach Hill would teach that this would be a sign of weakness. Since when is taking a knee and showing respect to the other team's player that is down a sign of weakness?
And by the way, I do mind this freshman making comments like that! If he's a freshman, that means he's 14 years old and if he doesn't know any better than that by now, he's on the wrong road in life!!!
And by the way, he will get what he deserves one day. What comes around, goes around!!!!

I hope that no one thinks that way on any team! I have been on both ends of injuries, and either way it is no fun if you have one or if you cause one even with a clean hit!

I find it hard to believe a lot of the things that the Rangers do....and unfortunately most of them are true. And Ranger fans, don't come to me telling me a different story. I'll take my friends' word over your word any day.

Anyone who has ever played football would know that football is more fun when you're playing hard and hitting people. This does not necessarily mean we're out to kill anyone, it's just football. Would you rather everyone just go easy on each other?
The sign of weakness goes back to pop warner, I don't look down upon anyone who takes a knee when a player gets hurt, everyone has their own opinion on that. It's no reason to dislike a team.

I just wish I knew what was so hard to believe about things the rangers do. If a player is out there with a cramp, ankle, semi-bad knee injury, why take a knee? If the players seemed to be paralized or something it might be different. I dont know what friends you are talking to, but I can tell you right now, that the SV defense is going to gang tackle, try to rip the ball out, and do what they are tought to do. Execute! If the opposing team gets banged up from it, so be it. They dont have to come out the second half. Its football. Hard hits= hospital stays sometimes. This is not on purpose, but it happens. When there are 3 people wraping up a player, and 4 more come in to help, if that player does not give up and fall, and the bell does not ring, he is going to take punishment. And he might get hurt. Bottom line. I do know that SV fans, and players clap when they get up, but please fill me in on the cheap shots. And if you choose to play ball one day, I hope you are on offense, cause you are not going to like your coaching on defense. If these kids did not give the impression to knock someone out every play, they would be benched. 100% everyplay, and hit them until they are on the ground and the whistle is blown. Also what are these things that Rangers do? That your friends are telling you? I can call coach Hill right now, if he needs to know about it. If it is something that is not legal. If its the fact that they hit too hard, nothing will be done. He might ask them to hit harder next week.
