SV just like Judson and everyone else has to play who is on the schedule. I can't say beating Lee 38-6 is any indication of how good you are. You really can't compare yourself to anyone else on how bad you beat an undermanned team. I am not convinced SV has enough offense to go very deep in the playoffs. But it does appear Coju will be watching them from home.

Yeah, I agree. SV's offense is not that great. I don't see too deep of a playoff run...especially if they run into Clemens.

I think we made some changes last night when he went down, wouldn't you say? We played 3 1/2 quarters without him and seemed to do just fine in adding 2 offensive TDs, a defensive TD, and a 101 yard kickoff return for a TD! And his backup is more than decent, he is a third year starter at DB and is probably the best athlete on the team! Besides him, we have a stable of very capable backs that can get the job done.
Our defense gave up a lot of yardage against a damn good offense but got the stops when needed! SM is a very good football team, and all the people who have posted here saying that if Madison played them now they would beat them because they are so improved, all I can say is they might find out in round 1 if SV can beat them in district play and win the 26-5a title! Whichever team from the 26 gets them in the first round with have their hands completely full. I can tell you this, I don't want to see a rematch with them, they are simply that good! SM proved last night that they are worthy of the high ranking in both the city poll and the region poll.

SVite, some of your posts are completely ignorant! Aren't special teams and defense part of the game? I thought I have been reading all year here how SV wins with them all the time? Or am I mistaken that SV wins many, many games when they have been totally outgained in total yardage and time of possession? I have seen your posts here on many occasions, and well, for lack of a better word 99% is BS! You obviously do not know much about HS football other than running your mouth. This is pretty clear if you think that you will play your second teamers against us. What a stupid comment!! You better worry about taking care of business the last two games in district or you'll get a close up view of the buffaloes in round 1.
I'm sure that SM had game film on Jamal Robinson (#32) because he has scored several TDs already this year on very limited action on the offensive side of the ball. Not only that, he is a third year starter at DB and last year was unanimous all-district.
The good part is, if Clemens doesn't want to play him both ways or on offense at all, we have several other kids who can get the job done! Did you happen to look at the stats from the game? We only threw one pass all night and it went for 6! Our QB has improved greatly since week 0 and is one hell of an athlete.
I'm not saying that we will beat SV, only that you will not play second teamers against us and your first teamers will know they have been in a game when it's over! Again, what a totally stupid comment! I bet the rest of SV fans are really proud of you.

I do apologize for the 4a message board comment. I just get a little worked up when a few bad apples spoil it for everybody. I do think you are very wrong about SV fans and think you have a personal problem with SV. With the exception of a few, they are very classy and respectful, just like the football program. The racists thing is a load of crap. The incident with last year involved a dumb freshman kid with no affiliation to the team. It's a tired subject. I am very tired of my community being called racist. I think that is the only ammo people have against the Ranger program and community, so thats what they use.
To the few so-called Ranger fans that act like total a..ses on this board... Please grow up.

Well first of all I want to say that even tho my primary school isnt a 5A school, whenever I get a chance I will end up going to games revolving 25 or 26-5A schools because those are the teams I enjoy outside of the ones I usually attend. As far as the vocal opinions of SV fans, the place I hear them is not only on this message board, but attending games in person of other schools which have involved SV. Like I said before, I know all SV fans arent like that, but the ones that are should take a look more closely on how they present themselves, cuz look at how ppl see them now. Its not just me making stuff up.
I know I will get laughed at for this, but I like visiting SASports.com message board because whenever I dont feel like reading arrogant posts, I just go there cuz they jsut weed them out and I dont read them. But going only to that message board is limited, so I come here for more football information. I hope this clears some things up.

I do remember the days when SV was worse than "not so great". The funny thing is that it seems like so long ago and it wasn't! That's because SV has been so good the past 10 years or so! I was just as heart broken when SLC kicked that field goal last year than if it had been SC playing in that game! It will be no different this year if SV or SM win the region. I'll support them all the way and hope that they bring that trophy back with them to region 4. In my opinion, if you don't feel this way, you aren't a true HS football fan! But I'll guarantee you this, if SC and SV meet up, I'll be cheering louder than any other SC fan in the stands to try and help them get the W!!!

I was actually hurting for SV, cause I wanted a 26-5A team but now that I've had time to take a good look at SV, I'm glad it happened - and I'm glad it ended like that.
I lost what little respect I had for them in the past few weeks because of some things they have done.

Let me say this about Clemens. They are a good team in a district full of Lees or maybe even worse. The fact they have not played close games should not be a surprise. San Marcos is the only other decent team there. Had Sv stayed in that district they would have never lost another district game just like Clemens won't. Playing bad teams does not get you ready for the playoffs. The Buffs played a good non district schedule but that was 6 weeks ago. SV has actually benefitted in the playoffs from playing in a tougher district IMHO.

Seguin beat Lee and SM beat Madison, enough said. I agree that the every week competition of 26-5a helps prepare you for the playoffs, I've never said anything different! I respect that you are rooting for your 26-5a brothers and after all if SC beats SV, it would really make CJ look bad that there so called little sister team down 78 did what they could not! SV might beat us, but if we play like we did Friday without James Henry, we will win! These kids are on a mission and the injury to James just made it that much more of a mission being that everyone was saying that we were a one-man show!
Why don't we see what happens Friday night at SV before we start making playoff predictions! To be honest with you, I'll take SV 28-24 over Madison Friday. And if that happens we will hopefully see SV for the region final. I can't wait, and neither can the SC players!

I think SV beats Madison, too. The Henry injury will get you beat at some point and SV can do it to you if you play each other.

Even tho Im from NB I am not jealous of SV. Im not talking trash about them im just saying that ppl dont seem to like SV fans for the way some of them act. The NB 4A schools have accomplished a whole lot and theres no reason to be jealous of SV when our own schools are successful, especially given the demographic differences between NB and SV; we do a WHOLE LOT with our resources regardless of them. So what that we havent beaten SV in 10 yrs. WE havent beaten Clemens either... It happens. Regardless of what you say I will still root for the Rangers on their trip to the 5A state title (regarless of how their fans come off).

well, like i've said before the 1st season is the first season...non-district, preseason, warmup games...
O'Connor isnt sitting on top of their district in the second season (district) worrying about their lose to boerne...

well, SM probably isnt dwelling on their 4A lose either...and they should not...
but, some how everyone thinks it means MORE that madison lost to a good 5A SM team in week ZERO. Um!

Well, because we are hostile about the prior years (regular season and playoffs). We just want to discuss Madison's lose this year...not ours...
