Like was stated above, plays in a weak sister district and will be exposed by week 3 of the playoffs because they have a very favorable draw the first two rounds. Until they beat somebody, they are just another Skyline to me. Not trying to be mean, just saying it like it is.

Anyways, Berkner won last night 28-0 to RL Turner. Berkner didn't have two runningbacks ( suspended) and their starting left guard. They played the worse game of the year yet still won big time.

Nice post. That definatly made me laugh. They would probably have to play Rockwall or a Garland school in the 2nd round, so they will probably go out then.

If you had to play John Tyler and Carter in the first two rounds, you wouldn't either, which is my point, you don't have to play strong teams the first two rounds and though you might make it farther in the bracket, it will be less impressive because of the strength of your schedule.

Texas Tech looked great till they played Texas, which is my point about your team.

WHATTTTTTT??????? ARE YOU BEING SERIOUS? LAKE HIGHLANDS BETTER THAN GARLAND!??!?!? And we actually played Carter, DeSoto, PESH, and one of the 4a best Ennis. All 4 are probably better than Duncanville. The Berkner district is horrible and by the way, how many passing yards do yall have?? Youre 1-dimensional!!!

lotta credibility you got goin there bud. I know you love your team and all, and you think it's a given that they'll win the State Championship, but why don't you wait a few weeks into November before you start saying Berkner will be unstoppable in the playoffs, ESPECIALLY when they're going to be in Division I. We don't want you to go suddenly "missing", like so many other overzealous younguns, the day after your team actually plays somebody in the playoffs. :)

Make sure you don't suddenly just not be able to be found after you actually play somebody, because I want you to admit you have the biggest rose colored glasses in the state when you get your whipping.

Texas Tech was killing everybody on offense, then Texas came along and gave them a whipping, because they PLAYED SOMEBODY. Using your math of a 21-3 victory over lowly Lakeview, North Garland beat them something like 42-7, or worse, and Garland beat North 24-6.

Don't you go anywhere after you get whipped, I want you to be a man after you take your whipping, just like you are being a big man now and throwing that homer stuff out.

Most rushing yards in 5A means nothing. Stay humble and excited at the same time. Wait to knock everybody else after it's all said and done, because those may be the same guys who you face when it counts. Good luck and don't look past the first round yet.

Don't think the players and coaches are. But it sure looks like there may be a few teams that are looking past the Rams. I'm telling you that's a mistake. Everyone knows the Rams are a running team. They face eight and nine in the box every week. Hell I've seen the safety 8 yards from the line of scrimmage but Berkner still puts up 300 yards rushing a game. I think it will take a lot better defense than Rockwall or Garland to stop them. The question is can Berkner stop the other offenses. They have been somewhat inconsistant on defense. I still say Berkner goes at least 3 rounds deep.

The defense is actually pretty good at times.... shut out RL Turner, Pearce only had 1 offensive TD against 1st team defense, Lakeview had 3 pts, Mesquite horn and Ducanville had 2 touchdowns each. We have the second best weakside DE in the country in Ugo Chinasa. Our D-Line is big, having 3 guys 6'5 or taller. The linebackers are really good, one of them running a 4.3. And when is the last time you saw a 6'3 cornerback? All I'm saying is that yall are up for a surprise, underating Berkner. Before yall know it, we will be respected for once.

rberk may in fact be all you say, but you have to get some better comparisons than what you did to one of the worst teams in one of the weakest districts in the metromess. rlt is not a team that puts any fear at all into any team they play. get some stronger opponents to brag about whipping, or keep it on the sly.

Pride is one thing. Being unrealistic is another.

I have pride in my Owls, but I'm realistic. If they don't play a better brand of ball than they have this year, it's round 2 at best.

All I have to know is your schedule and that you run really good, but don't have a passing game, and I can assure you Garland would beat you by 20 or more. To beat us you spread us with the deep pass and the inside and outside run. If you don't spread us, effectively, you lose. Our two losses came to teams that spread us, Carter, a really good team ranked in the top 10 in the state, by a TD, and DeSoto in 5 OT's, we had 7 turnovers and that QB got canned after that game.

Be prideful of your team, it's your right, but don't look dumb by throwing homerisms that just aren't true, and soon you will know it, first hand.

Berkner has never been a contender never been close to sniffing a championship in Football. They play in a very weak district. Only reason you guys have done well is a little better talent and no Plano schools that pounded on Berkner for the last 25 years in District.

You know how can get respect? By not dogging everyone else's program....Always stay modest even through your wins....Discuss strengths and weaknesses of other teams as well as your team. It is hard trying to explain yourself after you lose and you talked cash crap about everybody else and nothing but perfection about Berkner. You can still have pride in your team and do all that. The last year Berkner was in that district they made the playoffs and finished off Plano's 0-10 record. And if they were in that district this year would very probably finish second to Plano. You made my point. Plano beat Berkner 29 out of 31 years. Your right Berkner made the playoffs that year but had to beat an 0-9 Plano in the last game of the year. With all that riding on it they only beat Plano barely in OT and only because Plano missed their extra point which would of put them up 1 with under 10 seconds to go n the game.

I'm curious how much things will shakeup after realignment this winter. I'm not sure what the odds are of this district occuring but it's geographically logical.. the 4 RISD schools and the 3 PISD schools and Wylie, who should move up to 5A from what I've heard. We, as fans, would have a heck of a regular season to enjoy.

If that doesnt happen, I'd love for Berkner to at least schedule a non-league game against a Plano school, for old times' sake. The weakness of 10-5A is definitely limiting Berkner's potential. It's hard to improve without solid competition.

Let me think???? Oh, I know how about zero. Here's something for ya. I could care less how many championships Allen has. Actually the Eagle in my screen name is for the Abilene Eagles. My kids go to Berkner which is why I'm posting on this thread. As the thread reads "Contender or Pretender", I don't think the Rams are pretenders. By the same token, I don't think there's a state championship waiting for them this year. But I do think it's kind of ridiculous to just discount them (especially if you haven't seen them play). This is the best team in Berkner's history without a doubt and I think they can advance at least to the third round. I'm not claiming that they are a level above anyone. As the Plano faithful will admit, once the playoffs start anything can happen. I certainly mean no disrespect to Plano's program at all. I think its really cool the kind of season you guys are having and I wish them the best of luck in the playoffs.

In Berkner's last 7 games, they have beaten Jesuit, Lake Highlands, Pearce, Richardson, Creekview, Newman Smith, and Turner (not sure of the order). They beat Creekview last night to win the 10-5A championship (is that Berkner's first ever football district championship?). In non-district, they beat Mesquite Horn (who barely missed the playoffs), Lakeview Centennial, and Duncanville (arguably the best non-playoff team in the state).

Their schedule hasn't been too hard, but it wasn't a cakewalk either.

I say they're for real-- I predict they lose to Trinity in the state semifinal.

I think they will be ok until they play TWS and then it will end.........look at Jesuit last year.....they got clobbered by LV.......
