*gasp* another slc thread, but this one is acuttaly not a copy of a ton of others, this is to talk about the game that will occur 2morrow night at Dragon Stadium!! i expect Dragon Nation to be loud as usual, tommorrow will be a big day for the band as well, it will be our last chance to play in front of an audience, before UIL on tuesday, also, it will be our first time marching the whole show, the bad part about this is no dragon spellout! man was i PISSED when we didnt do it against DR, also the lil 8th grader band nerds will be joining us (well, the ones that arent "to cool", which seems to be the theme this year with the freshman throughout the school), but all in all should be a great game 2morrow at dragon stadium!! and hope to see all of Dragon Nation 2morrow!!

what would make it a great game would be if Carroll was up by a lot to let the football player from Keller that has down syndrome to score a real touchdown against the number 1 team in the state. I hope that this happens

If that happens...SLC can claim to be the "Class of Texas"

It's been all over the news this week...Keller & Richland both agreed to let him run for an uncontested TD last week...it was touching to say the least...

i was curious, why we didnt use ortega, that much, it seemed we went on it on 4th a lot, maybe just trying new things out?

Keller is our closest neighbor and a lot of the kids know each other. Keller just had nothing to slow the Dragons down..no running game whatsoever & a very inaccurate passer....obviously their D was not able to get it done...if Ortega kicks field goals it's rubbing it in more than continuing to run the ball...

oh, because like it seemed every 4th down, wed get the first and score, and i thought that was like rubbing it in or ortega was hurt or something, whyd tre sit out? groin acting up again?

Keller has a great passing offense with their QB passing for close to 2,000 in the 1st 7 weeks. He looked good tonight in the 1st half. Only 26 yards in the 2nd half

they lost almost every player that played in a varsity game before. I think on the radio they said that there were 6 kids that had ever played on a friday night before.

Keller certainly had one thing going for them...
A dirty player. I'll prolly get banned for calling out a HS kid, but someone needs to say something to this punk, the coach, or his parents. 3 personal fouls, 2 spearing calls, and he damn near broke Riley Dodge's neck. I won't even bother to call his #, but he's a LB... Cheap shots all night. Just because you are down 50 doesn't give you the right to hurt someone. Now I know why Coach Dodge sat Tre' tonight. I am betting Tre' would've played had the game mattered.

2 legit drives.
Just threw the ball down the field. Keller's QB is good, and in fact he had 2 sure TD's just flat dropped by Keller WR's.

one good drive and another aided by several penalties. Keller's QB had a solid 2nd qtr with accurate short passes. Halftime adjustments included blitzing him from different angles. This totally disrupted his timing and resulted in several sacks. Had like 26 yards of passing in 2nd Half.

Not only was he spearing, I saw him throw at least 4 forearms to the head that didn't get called. Not sure what his deal was, but this started in the 1st qtr. Not after we were up by 50. I guess if you can't beat them, try and mame them. That's one way to leave your mark. When he's 35, he would be bragging to his friends saying "remember when I was 17 and I took that cheap shot against the #1 Dragons and knocked that kid out of the game - that was awesome! Boy did I show them." Idiot!

Coach D kept Tre out because he knew one specific lb was a cheap shot artist? Did he not have the same concerns for his own son who almost got his neck broken? This hypothesis sounds more than a bit out there to me.

My point was, why risk further injury to your starting RB. It sounded more like what you said. Not what I was aiming at.
Regardless, the Keller kid was a punk, and should've been tossed.

What else do you expect from Keller? This kind of stuff happens every year. It happens almost every weekend also just not on the football field. There filth is amazing.

Time was running down in the fourth quarter, about 4 minutes left. If we put ortega in to kick the field goal, we would have to give them back the ball, and the game would've gone drag on another 20 minutes. By going for it (and fortunately making it...twice) we managed to run off a good 2 - 3 minutes off the clock.

Matt Moorefield (#32) is the backup running back, 3rd string is Matt Hampton (#34). I asked Tre before the game and he said last game he had a concussion, this was news to me, but I suppose he knows right? He said he'd be back next week.

Durring the DR game Tre got his 6th concussion, so they decided it would be best to let him sit out this game. From what I was told, Matt will be playing the rest of the regualr season games.

His 6th concussion?! Are you sure? I don't know how long he'll be able to play football if he continues to suffer concussions at that rate.

Yeah I think that Tomlin is moving into the 3rd string spot. He could be a good compliment to Tre next year if they keep him at RB.

no. One plays receiver for both JV and varsity and the other plays linebacker and runningback for the varsity. Ironically the one that plays varsity is the younger brother
