Sounds like a good way to start the year. :) Any body think that will be a test? ;) Should be fun. They have a great program and a great crowd, and so do we. What more could we ask for. (Is this past the rumor stage? ;))

I still think it's a rumor. One ex-Katy player mentioned on the Katy board that the players were sure of playing North Shore in 2003 and then wound up playing A&M Cons. instead. Things can change especially when in the rumor stage.

I will be glad to see that one win or lose. Coach Aymond and Mr.Warken are not afraid to put it on the line as is Coach Joseph. It is probably to fill in the void by not playing TWHS. I am guessing that the TWHS game has run its course. None of this will matter until we actually see the schedule. NS needs a QB to do anything effective this year. Like last year, I will not put them in high order and I hope they are kept out of the top 10 again.

Off the top of my head...a beast of a LB, perhaps the best TE in the state, a stable of RB's....pretty much everyone but McGinty is back. Katy's WR's will be a question mark. OL should make things a tad easier for Parker Ray and Webber. Defense won't be as dominate as last year, But Marks, Tapong and Holl is a great way to lay down a foundation.

Until I see an official schedule released I'm taking this new as still being in the rumor mill. I'm quite sure both school are talking or have talked and when they can come to an agreement that works for both side the game will happen. Until then let's not get too carried away with things, but let's all at least keep hoping and praying that it finally happens.

I hope it's true. I've been wanting to play you guys and others in the area for quite a while. :D

I think both teams will come out the better for it but I really hate that it's the first game of the season. I would have preferred it to be at least the 3rd game. :eek:

i agree.. would much rather it be at the end of the non district schedule..but as it looks now... we tangle right out of the chute:eek:

From what the players tell me the first game is North Shore possibly at Reliant followed by The Woodz and A&M to round it out.

Now maybe people wont claim we have a cup cake schedule. I hope the coaches get it together by opening day. We all know we dont play our best ball until playoffs. Even this year our offense didnt get on track until Cinco game.

If it happens, it will be a great testament to football. I expect it to be a close, sloppy game as both teams have question marks at key positions.

Wow!!! This game would be huge. I know i'll be there. NS will be better then last year i can guarantee that. And dont underestimate Alex Tillman (Second String QB) I hear he's pretty good.

Our 2008 team will be somewhat like our 2003 team. You want to play us early in the season because of a lot of inexperience at key positions. Our 2003 team turned on their afterburners when they got into the playoffs which is what I expect of the 2008 team. One really glaring high spot for the tigers next year will be our massive OL. If the OL reaches their potential next year, anything is possible.

If these two DO play, I think Reliant will be a must. I don't think either Stadium could hold up to the numbers this game would draw.

If it happens I gotta go with NS. Later on in the season it would be harder to determine a favorite because Katy closes strong and NS has struggled late in the season for the most part since 2003. Early on next season NS will be really tough for Katy to beat with the caliber of athletes NS has returning.

I hate building NS up so early. While they do have an outstanding nucleus returning we don't know how they will be this year again because of the QB situation. In 04 and 05 they had great players but the QB was not a standout and it caught up with them. If they play Katy right out of the chute, the game will be no real gage for either team. If Katy jumped out to a 17 point lead like Aldine did last year, NS would have a tremendous mountain to climb to pull that off again if that is possible against Katy. Let's keep NS off the radar again this year and be surprised at what ever good they accomplish. I am glad to hear Tillman is pretty decent having not seen him much.

dada said it pretty much. NS would be a strong contender again if the QB turns out to be sharp. The defense will be very solid and the manboy at tight end will be a monster for anyone to contend with. Katy always has a great team. Even in "off" years. No easy one for NS that's for sure. This game will be good any way you look at it but I also wish it were not the first one if that is true.

yeah..... salinas.... saw him at the NS vs Deer Park basketball game last friday....his size is legit....even in street clothes....:eek:

Id say the last couple of years your right with the fall of the Alief schools. But as recently as 02' it was the best district in the state. 3/4 teams in the reg finals were Elsik, Katy,and Hastings. But i believe that Cinco and Mayde Creek may be on the rise. It will be nice since we have not lost to another Kisd team since 95'. Have never lost to cinco and Mayde creek. But give them time and they will be pretty good. Cinco was one of the top teams in the area in 06'.

But on to the Northshore game. I have no idea what to expect. Northshore traditionaly starts out pretty quick. There offensive scheme is not as complex. As oppose to katy it takes a while for them to get that zone blocking in sync. especially against a talented defense like NS. This game will come down to turnovers, And big plays. But i will make my judgement after i watch the red white game. To many question marks, Gotta see the new crop.
