The Woods has had some issues this year on O, but they scored 28 against LP last year - moved the ball with ease all day really. I think they'll score some points, but I think this D will be a slightly faster version of a tough D they saw in NorthShore. The bigger issue will be LP's dynamic, but inconsistent offense against a stellar TWHS D - that should be interesting.

LP's offense vs. TW's defense will definitely be the key to this game. LP_4_LIFE.......don't ask a question and then answer it immediately.

the woodlands played north shore without the starting qb and without drabec
the all world wr....tough to compare the team without the 2 big guns..
lp should win..however a few turnovers and anything can happen..
i watched katy taylor play katy to a 6-3 first half mainly due to 3 katy
turnovers...or that game could have been 24-3 at half..the second half
katy took care of the ball and ran off 31 unanswered points....
the lp vs tw game should be a very interesting match up....
i'll give lp the advantage with the great kicker and a more potent overall offense....

lp 17 the woods 7

The Woodlands are overrated. Anyone that really watched the Klein Collins game knows that KC should have won. The Woods had a couple of big stops inside the 10 and also KC has a horrible coach (thanks to the Woods by the way) who cannot seem to get the best RB in Texas the ball. Lufkin will stomp The Woodlands.

Actually, it does not matter. I hope that neither team has any injuries & we have a good game. Both teams can lose the rest of the season & still make the playoffs. It does not matter ! I'm looking for both teams to make the district proud in the playoffs. It would be nice for both to go state!

Saying that, both teams have something to prove & will not help themselves to try to win. Both defenses will be tough. I think the Woodlands will have the edge as they experienced some good teams (Katy, North Shore, Humble, Klein Forest, Klein Collins...& Klein was no cake walk) All the teams are up to play the woodlands; especially Klein Collins in a must win to make the playoffs.

Somehow, The Woodlands find a way to win. This team will not give up.

I'm going with the upset & taking the Woodlands by 3 pts. This will required that we pickup on our blocking assignments. The offensive line must establish the hole & pass protection against the best defensive line yet. The big play will only happen if the WR's take care of business. It's all about blocking. Lufkin is simply too fast not to stick to your man and take him out of the play.

It is that simple.
My thoughts.

TW doesn't have this amazing offense that can't be stopped.

Lufkin has one of the top defenses in the state when they are on their game.

Lufkin wins it by a couple TDs minimum.

TWHS doesn't have the "O" line that can stop the Lufkin D.

I will be shocked if TWHS beats Lufkin but I said the same thing about KF.

It is obvious that The Woodlands offense is not near as good as last year and Lufkin's defense is much better then last year so i give Lufkin's defense a big edge in that matchup. Now The Woodlands very good defense vs Lufkin's good but inconsistent offense will be interesting. It is going to come down to that matchup in my opinion because i think the Lufkin defense will be dominant like usual in this one.

Hey wait a minute?? Does the Lufkin and The Woodlands play this week?? NO!! Let's worry about this game next week considering there will be plenty of time to go over every dang detail next week. ;) At this pace we will all be burned out talking about it.

The reason that the KC QB's have 300 yards in the last 2 games is because Oak Ridge and Woodlands put 3 people on Goodson. KC is very thin in talent especially in the skill positions and I am not sure why people can't see that and just want to blame the coach.

Careful what you wish for. Klein ran off Kenjura and got Labay, Oak has Smith who will probably do something stupid before it is over just like he always has and he is still there. How can the KF coach with all that talent get beat by TWHS and blown out by Lufkin? Give Collins Ty or Palmo with Goodson and they are in the playoffs.

Fact is KISD has a different take on coaches than say Conroe ISD. They have more teaching requirements that most and it makes it difficult.

If they run off Feldman, don't expect the top prospects in the state to come beating the door down.

Funny thing is 2 years ago, the parents wanted to run off the baseball coach (Meador) and last year he took them to the final 8 in state.

I went to see the freshman game last night and saw that he was working with the offense on the sidelines during the game and spoke at length with them after that. It didn't hurt, the A team at Collins dominated a very fine Klein team 28-10.

..and besides, if you ask Lufkin or SLC fans if their teams could ever lose to anybody at anytime the answer would be an emphatic NO!

At least they gots SPIRIT!!!

How about handing the ball off to him. Dive left, dive right, offtackle. And using a playaction pass if they put too many in the box. When Goodson gets the ball, he has to run at least five yards to the left or right before cutting upfield and it allows the defense to get to him quickly. I was wrong to say he is a horrible coach, that was just the frustration talking. I just think they need some flexibility. If they still had Luke at quarterback, and Yancy at the other wingback the offense would be perfect. But the two quarterbacks are both pocket passers. Especially the backup who looks like he is about 6'5. It would just be nice to a little bit of flexibilty. I like Feldman and I retract that horrible coach statement. Good luck to KC tonite against Klein. You going to the game or staying home to watch the Astros?
