I heard next year 13-5a will be dropping bryan amc and waco, bryan and amc to a closer district and waco to 4a, and adding killeen elison and another team i forget. I heard this from a player on the team who heard from the coach. If this happned i would like it. Give heights a easier road to the playoffs, and bring cross time rivals up

Ya that would pretty much make Cove and Heights the powerhouses of the district. I would love to have AMC and Bryan back, because they always put a good team on the field. But with ellison and whoever else, not much competition will be left in the district for the 2

You can never tell what the UIL will do when it comes to the re-alignments, and re-classifications. At this point it is all just a rumor. I would however like to see all 4 killeen teams in the district. That would leave one spot open if the UIL does drop waco down to 4a. Maybe leander or g-town. But we will have to wait to see. Don't over look the shoe next year, they have been getting better every year and they will win some, eventually.

every few years it seems the UIL makes a change just for the sake of making a change.

I do find the driving distances on 13-5A to be a bit long at times. But, what are you going to do? If we went back where we were at one piont, we'd be drving south instead of north all the time.

No biggie. I like it the way it is. I did not like it when Bryan and Consol were in two different districts. That made no sense to me at all.

You know what would be the best district ever that would ensure Cove and Heights 1 and 2 spots year in and year out. All 4 killeen schools, Cove and Lampasas and temple and belton could tag along. The all around 190 battle

Nowhere near the enrollment to move up...i think like 1100 maybe....Thats just a fantasy butt kickin from Cove. Big Rivalry it would be but not much of a game. Cove and Lampasas havent met in 20 years, because there was a big fight after the last game and the schools decided not to play the game anymore

I copied this from another board that shows a slightly diffrent scenerio to include the Abilene teams and San Angelo Central:

I think Waco is wanting to drop to 4A. For good or bad, Abilene and Cooper will both be 5A. The AISD already has ways to bend numbers and make the schools look bigger than they really are. I guess you cant operate this close to the Wylie ISD without learning how to alter the true enrollments.

I think abilenefan06 is right. I suspect AHS and Cooper are headed East. However, dont be surprised if we are lumped in with San Angelo and sent to Central Texas. Maybe something like this...

It would be Georgetown if anything. It wouldnt make alot of sense to keep georgetown in 15-5a and move Leander to 13-5a, but maybe thats just me. And in most cases, yes Cove and Heights would be district favorites every year but this year Georgetown would compete with anybody in that district outside of Cove. IMO if Georgetown were in 13-5a this year, they would finish 3rd, just like they will probably finish this year in 15-5a. Its about time that town put out a good football team.

Well we really can't say anything right now because all these teams that we are talking about are losing alot of talent, expect ellison. of course you have to take in coaching, but still we cant reallt judge how the district will turn out, because of all the talent leaving. now most likely it will be cove or heights one, then the other secound, but we cant really underestimate the other teams, especially georgetown a team who no one has seen.

so im sure 13-5A wont be to bad, elison and killeen arnt that bad.

I remember when i was a kid in the 70s and Cove played Lampasas. We also used to play Del Valley too. Good memories........

I don't care what the UIL does but get it right for once and Hopefully Jack will schedule us some non district games against some teams like Lufkin, Tyler Lee, Judson etc. I think that will help us in the long run. Its ok to lose as long as you make it to the dance and continue to win once you get there.

Look what Judson did this year. Not the best team during the regular season but they got the job done and went pretty far as well.
