This sounds eerily like last year when Todd Dodge pulled a scholarsip offer made by Darrell Dickey at Unt, only not so close to signing day; still I'm finding myself thinking that this late withdrawal of scholarship offers made by recently departed head coaches isn't right, whether it's by Jones, Briles, Dodge, or just due to the way the system is set up. Just wondered what others on the College forum thought. Bottom line,in my opinion, is that high school athletes need to make plans, and this doesn't help. For purposes of full disclosure, I am UNT alum and still a Todd Dodge fan; Still, I'm trying not to make this a diatribe against JJ or Dodge (of a defense for either in this withdrawal of scholarship offer practice), I'm just seeing it now as something that happens when coaches change jobs, but can't really see what makes it "right".

Smu actually called the student to tell him there was no scholarship available for him. In the dodge case I believe that nobody was contacted. I could be wrong but that is the way I am remembering it.

I think he will be busy recruiting in the next two weeks. Should be interesting to see how many players uncommit to play for him.

If Jones holds true to previous form, he will load up on JUCO kids. The RnS is not hard to learn and he will use the older guys to bridge that gap.
