I surprised myself and voted for Romo. Harrison is dirty, but a good team-mate. Romanowski ended the career of a TEAM-MATE for crying out loud. Both are cheaters - HGH, steroids or other stuff, and Harrison certainly shoule be considered.

Lots of guys were dirty when Dobler played - he was just the worst. Tatum will always be a thug.

It was a different era before steroids per se. Those guys were mean but Romanowski tried to end guys careers.

Yep, and while the guys from another era were "dirty", most of the stuff they did was within the rules.

As far as the NFL goes..... I voted Dobler mainly because of folk lore. Any of these guys could be a contender, along with a few that aren't mentioned. I ran into Romonowski at a local restaurant recently. He's not as big as he once was, but still look like a juice junky.

Dobler like to just stomp people for the fun of it. See if he could snap a leg bone of some description. Hey, if the ref didn't call it in those days, it didn't get scrutinzed like it does now.

Before Steriods? Dobler maybe, Butkus, before steriods. And they were STILL that mean or crazy!

Again, these guys played in a time where the rules were a lot looser. Lots of more stuff going on. Hell, you could hit somebody five yards out of bounds, and not get a flag.

Truthfully, there are too many to name. There are tons of guys that would give the "business" under a pile, or take a shot at a QB - 6 mins after he's thrown the ball - or roll a linemen's knee, then get up and laugh at it. If I had to name one, I'd say Dick Butkus. That dude would bite/break fingers, grab scrotums, kick-out teeth, step on an "available" ankle and urinate on himself and then sit on a guy, while on the pile. He once spit in a coaches coffee, then watched him drink it, only later to apologize, saying he thought it was "the john". (toilet) The guy was nuts! You'd get shot, today, for doing a third of the crap he did. Oh well... that's the game! Gotta love it!
