Garland vs. South in the state finals would be one for the ages no matter what. THe rivalry that already exists is so intense that making it worth everything would just make the game hands down the best ever. I mean, it can never happen obviously...but it'd still be cool. Well just stick around in the playoffs and you will hopefully see Longview and Lufkin play. That is a pretty big stage and you might see Longview lose that one. Stick around a little longer and you might see SLC/Lview and we will prolly lose that one. If you notice Redneck most of the chest thumpers are long gone after the Rockwall game.

I don't hate you. I feel for you being a ECA fan. Once a pewerhouse and now a 1a LA team that no one really wants to play. Make no mistake though Redneck Longview is a very talented team and has a chance to win state if SLC goes D1....assuming we survive Lufkin. These guys are talented, have great team chemistry, and believe they can win.

What has caused NB's fall off. They are still one of the largest 4a schools in the state from what I've seen and are even likely to move back up to 5a in the next re-alignment from all I'm hearing! I know that they lost Rhodes, and that can be tough to adjust to another head coach and staff, but I would have never bet on NB dropping off as severely as they have.

They are just on a down cycle athletically. I do not know this for sure, but that would be my guess.

Longview isn't near big enough for that game. I don't even think SFA can hold it this year, though I would want it there again. Last yeara the place was busting at the seams and this year it will attract even more people. If it happens I am definately tailgaiting this year.

Dont know much about New Braunsfels but why on earth would they hire Nacogdoches' head coach. I dont really know how long he was in Nac but Nac has been awful for at least 5 years. (More awful than usual and that's saying alot.)

Ya you are right, New Braunfels has beaten Seguin 23 years in a row before Seguin snapped the streak last year. It is hard to see this happen as a Unicorn fan. We are the 4th largest 4A in the state, and I am expecting them to be in 5A next year. This is a bad time for New Braunfels to be on a downward spiral. This year they got off to their worst start since 1964. But I think the downfall was coming, regardless if Rhoades would have stayed or not. Even last year's playoff team fell short of expectations of previous years. NB is now 2-5 in a 4A district, lets hope they can rebound somehow. And good luck to them also if they end up back in 26-5A again.

Huntington is the worst 3a team in Texas every year they have been in existence. If they win it is usually vs a weak 2a team. They have won 1 district game since they have been playing and i believe that is since the early 90's?? Huntington is about 15 minutes from Lufkin.
