What is his college status at the moment? Still a commit to UCLA?
There's a story on OrangeBloods about him...uh oh...:D:eek:

He gave UCLA a soft verbal last summer, so he's kept his options open this entire time. Apparently, the UCLA staff (then led by Karl Dorrell) made a very positive impression on him. I know Texas is in his top five. Beyond that, I don't know anything more. I know Alabama, Arkansas, Ohio State and Texas A&M are also after him. The Aggies appear confident he'll sign with them. They got one of Aundre's teammates, Trent Hunter, to play defensive back and be a special teams ace for A&M.
Both Texas schools must be making an emphatic late pitch because Aundre had basically eliminated both as early as two weeks ago. A&M dropped off because of the coaching turmoil, and Texas never really aggressively pursued him but that appears to be changing.

yea, he said he is going to visit Louisville, Ohio State and Alabama. He became interested in Texas after seeing Jamaal charles declared for the draft.
"Texas isn't necessarily up there real high on my list but I'm definitely interested."

He was not impressed with Alabama's plans for him. Arkansas is moving up.

According to several Ohio State boards, Dean is in Columbus today. With Chow's track record at the college level and with RB development and with UCLA losing it's top 2 rushers from last year, Dean would be a fool not to keep his commitment.

This is true. Chow has had NFL guys like Bush, Fargas and White. Dean needs to be smart, here. And besides.. he doesn't want to go to Ohio State! I mean... it's Ohio State! :puke:(
Btw, I think Chow's QB development is legendary. Jim McMahon, Steve Young, Ty Detmer, Philip Rivers, Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart. The guy should be placed in the HOF for what he did w/ those guys, alone! It will be interesting to see what he can do with Patrick Cowan and Ben Olson, next year. (He'll only have them for 1 year, though.)

jtk will be excited to see what Chow does with Chris Forcier who will be a Rs freshman next season. Forcier was very highly rated coming out of San Diego last year and would give Chow a mobile QB to work with. He's not big at around 6'3 190, but he runs in the 4.5s and would give Chow a good arm to use in that drop-back style offense, but also give him a little mobility to work with.

Perfectly stated.

Ohio State board now saying Dean didn't make it up to Columbus. A one day visit on a Monday seemed rather pointless anyway.

Good. I don't want one of our best players going to the land of the Buckeyes.

I haven't heard anything about his recruiting trip and while I'd love to see a Texas product at running back I think the RB stable is pretty full. 1 Red Shirt Freshman and 2 Sophomores pretty much handled the load this year. They've also had to move at least 2 backs over to defense to get playing time.

Aundre is going to UCLA. He wavered after Dorrell was fired, but Neuheisel came after him aggressively once he took over the post and Aundre will honor the original commitment.
Norm Chow has taken over as OC. That could be fun for a player like Aundre.

Thanks KT. I have been curious about this for a while. He will be great in that offense.
