Im sorry to bust youe bubbles but he was not shut down he caught everypass that was thrown to him and the one he didnt catch there was a pass interference call that prevented him from catching it. Sorry Claybon only threw him the ball 4 times(Keep in mind he mad all four grabs) but look at Lufkin's WR corps they have 5 real good WR's. As far as Bryant being shut down doubt it He was standing by himself most of the night Claybon just never looked back to his left becuase he was to bust completing passes to the other WR's no body knows about.

I feel bad for Greg McElroy...he has about 4 or 5 receivers like that. How does he choose where to throw?

You are correct DC06 - but Dez is real. I dunno - 19 was a decent corner, and despite what anyone says, the KF safety (and he is a smart player) was favoring Dez. Big deal - we go with another plan and torch 'em for 37 - that's plenty enough.

Yeah, i know Dez is probably the best individual all around WR in the state, i just wanted to see some panther fans get agitated by my SLC comment ;)

DC - you may recall me re-opening the thread about SLC vs. LP receivers - SLC was very impressive Thurs. night - to say the least. Barring injury and him keeping the head on straight -- Bryant will be all state next year. This year he makes one handed grabs -- 98 yard td's -- but then he's dropped some and makes a few other mental errors - as any junior would that has started all of 8 games. He is fun to watch though.

Dez is a jr? wow, now that's scary. He's making more noise than Renfro did last year. As far as SLC vs. Lufkin, SLC just has too deep of a corp, but i wouldnt having bryant on it. two very good teams, and im hoping for yet another classic matchup in december.

Hey. Good luck on that classic match-up.
We have a decent passing game in Katy this year. While the subject of pass receivers is being bandied about I would like to offer up Katy receiver Michael Fuda, a junior. Michael has only 18 receptions this year, but 10 have gone for touchdowns. That's about a touchdown for every other catch he makes. Totals reception yards is 579 or 32+ yards per catch. Longest is 73 yards. His ability for finding the end zone once he catches the ball is pretty amazing and recently it's been with double coverage.
Hopefully, some of us will get a chance to witness the others teams first hand.
Good luck to all.

Fuda appears to be pretty unstoppable -- those are sick numbers.

Ill trade you three Freshmen WR's and a placer kicker for Fuda we got a deal(LOL) those numbers are beyond sick they are insane.

Dez Bryant has not faced a secondary like ours yet. I hope we are ready for the challenge!

The thing is this!! Lufkin has plenty of other very talented wr's. Dez is just the best of a very talented wr crew. If they just concentrate on Dez others will have big games like Shanke A&M commit, Thomas ( junior, future div1a football or baseball player??) Gordon ( 6'3 and probably a future div1a player) Raines ( very good speed with great hands) Yes Dez is special and is Lufkin's and one of the best period, but the other wr's can kill you if The Woodlands main goal is to shut down Dez.

Assuming The Woodz has a better D than KF -- Lufkin is going to have to get in better sync on the passing game - it was off Mon. night -- partly because of a decent D, but mainly because the players were out of sync -- and the play calling was a bit off as well IMO.
For example - Jeremy rolls out right (he's a lefty) to the short side of the field, very slow developing play. by the time he squares his shoulders and fires a strike on an out to an open Thomas -- the receiver also happens to be two yards out of bounds  -- that's what I call a work in progress.
