Will/should Texas move him to safety this off-season (listed as WR right now). It'd be nice to have that kind of physical presence back there.

Williams played both WR and DB for Garland High School.

Regardless, Texas needs to find some answers at safety this off-season. The corners look good with Ryan Palmer, Deon Beasley, Ben Wells and hopefully Chykie Brown stays out of the doghouse this year.

Maybe they throw Aaron Williams or Nolan Brewster in as freshman.

Nolan Brewster has the ability and football IQ to get some playing time and possibly start as a true freshman.

I like Brewster a lot. Watching him at the AAA game the other day, he is more athletic than I was expecting.

He should be moved to DB, safety specifically, IMHO. He was a WR on potential, for my money. He could outclass average DB's but his patterns were lazy, his hands questionable, and his lack of practice ethic was legendary. Coaches refused to let the underclassment hit him....he was definately pampered. He was always better at DB, my personal opinion.

I think Williams may make the move and that is one of the reasons why he was redshirted while guys like Collins and Kirkendoll played as true freshmen. The bottom line is that after this class is signed, Texas will have just 4 scholarship safties on the roster... 2 will be true freshmen, 1 will be a RS freshmen and the only one with any experience will be a junior. Now, Ben Wells came in as a CB, but he redshirted this year and worked exclusively at safety on the scout team so you can probably throw him into the mix too, but he is just a RS freshman.

This is just pure speculation on my part, but with Muschamp on the roster, don't be surprised if he gives Williams a look at LB since Williams was listed at 6'3 215 prior to his redshirt year. Chizik did it with Kelson who is about the same size. I know Texas is in good shape at LB, but SEC defensive coaches, especially those from Auburn love smaller, faster LBs. Muschamp's starting LBs at Auburn last year went 220, 214 and 201. Much the same was true of Chizik who's starting LBs his last year at Auburn went 213, 213 and 221. If Muschamp is looking for a way to get more speed on the field, I wouldn't be surprised if he looked that way.

Start? no chance

Play? maybe

His body needs some work and he has to work on his quickness in space.
