tOSU is a fraud, they should not be allowed in the BCS Championship ever again!! They are the new Notre Dame... get into the championship playing a weak OOC schedule and beating up a pathetic bunch of conference opponents and choke when they play a decent team!!

Georgia and USC both would have destroyed either one of these teams!! This game is pathetic.

All the more reason why that loss to South Carolina at home stings even more. Georgia has nobody to blame but themselves for not taking care of the Cocks. As hard as it is to handle the Tennessee loss, I can handle itmore than the SC loss simply because they just kicked our *** up and down the field in Knoxville. We had too many missed opportunities against SC.

If this game continues in this fashion it will mean that 4 out of the 5 BCS bowl games this year and 6 out of the last 10 including both national championships were won by at least 20 points. Sounds like the BCS couldn't have gotten it more wrong the past two years.

They definitely have the pieces in place. The thing Georgia needs to avoid is losing that one they have no business losing. It's something Georgia does quite often. Hopefully they can play a full season to their potential. If they do that, then I too like their chances.

Georgia does seem to do that every year, but I think Richt has the motivation part down, plus for the first time since I can remember, we don't have a bunch of key players to replace next year like we have in the past. In '02 the whole O-line graduated. The year after that the defense graduated. Shockley's senior year, he got hurt before the Florida game and Tereshinski couldn't get it done, then we lost to WVU in a game we went into overconfident. Next year there will be no excuses, the O-line will have experience. Stafford is finally playing up to his potential. Mo-Mass will be a senior, AJ Green will be a STUD frosh on the otherside of the ball and Knowshon will be the most legit Heisman cadidate since Champ Bailey.

I have seen one questionable call and home field advantage has absolutely nothing to do with this game. tOSU travels extremely well and if they were a good enough team they would win at LSU. Do you remember Texas going to the Horse shoe and winning then going to USC's backyard and winning in '05?

I don't think tOSU belonged in this game to begin with and I have been saying it for a very long time. Past bowl records have absolutely nothing to do with the present.

Here we go again with Pack logic... I DID NOT SAY ONE WORD ABOUT THE BIG 10, MY POST WAS ABOUT OHIO STATE!!! Go back and re-read it, there is NO MENTION about the Big 10(11) conference!!! OHIO STATE (not the Big 10), let me repeat that in case you missed it Pack, OHIO STATE has embarrassed themselves on the national stage for the second year in a row. And for those who are keeping score... OHIO STATE is about to become 0-9 against teams from the SEC. And LSU is not even the best team in the SEC this year IMHO.

I've been telling you all year long. The Big Televen was at best the second worst BCS conference this year. Ohio State has played nobody. They are not prepared because they were never tested. LSU was and it cost them a couple of games, but they come into this game more prepared, more tested and stronger as a result of playing in the SEC. Ohio State could still come back and win, but this game is just more proof that the Big Televen this year was a joke.

OK if we are speaking of Kentucky's entire body of work they might not be a football powerhouse but neither is Kansas. Fact is they were a pretty good team this year and for a while were in the running for a national championship. The personal foul calls are legit in my mind. Ohio State has been jawing all game and there is a reason they teach you to stretch your body away from the punter and not into him. The only one that I think could be debated was the late hit out of bounds.

Are you kidding? Look, TGO, just cuz they butt-plowed your dirt burglars doesn't mean WVU deserved a title shot. The title game should have been LSU and USC. It was obvious before the bowl selections and it is even more obvious now.

I dont think anyone was really surprised but at the back of your mind you had to give OSU some small chance of wining and redeming themselves. As if you felt sorry for them. Unfortunately for them, those chances were shot down at the end of the 1st quarter

I didn't think they had much of a chance when I heard their players playing the "we're the underdogs" card despite the fact that they were ranked higher and being picked to win by most of the national media. The players having to use that ploy was proof to me that they didn't think they could win.

It was funny how in the begining the announcers kept talking about ohio state's #1 stingy defense as if it was actually relevant during this game

How does USC deserve it?? What in the hell did they do?? Beat an overrated Illinois team?? You can argue both ways. WVU without Pat White is as beatable as Texas and Mizzou (twice) to OU. Absolutely nothing is obvious with USC, in regards to deserving a BCS Title nod. Are you're blinded by your love for the Pac-10?? I'm just calling it the way I see it.

The best offense OSU played all year was Purdue who ranked 27th in yards and 24th in yards and 24th in points scored. That's it. Just one example of how stats can sometimes lie. When you don't play any good offenses all year, your defensive numbers are going to be inflated... just like OSU's. Their defense against LSU looked slow, they lacked fundamentals and they were beat down at the LOS.

Ummmm... I don't have any love for the Pac 10 so how could that be blinding me? Your biases are blinding you. WVU is a very good team, but the best two teams in the nation at the time of the final BCS poll were LSU and USC.

I think West Virginia would've beaten Georgia the same way they did, in 2005... when Pat White and Steve Slaton were freshmen. That's no knock on Georgia, as they would've certainly made it a game. It would've been a closer game than the OU game. (Then again, I would wonder how Georgia would've done vs WVU without RB-Knowshon Moreno, WR-Sean Bailey, DB-Asher Allen, DB-Kelin Johnson and DT-Geno Atkins??)

Anyhow, I think WVU would match-up better with LSU!

Only speaking of what I saw. I saw the USC-Illinois game and the OU-WVU game. I believe WVU would make for the best opponent for LSU. I think USC is overrated.. though not as much as Ohio State.

Well in the context of the current system, you have to overlook one of them. Unless we can somehow get three teams on the same field.

Only problem with that scenario is that this Georgia team is much better than the 05 version of the Dawgs. I don't think that WVU would have exploded on the Georgia defense like they could on the OU defense. The Dawgs were much faster and matched up much better than OU did defensively.
WVU came out and took it to UGA in 05, but unlike OU this year, that Dawg team was able to come back and make a game of it, they just dug themselves in to big of a hole to fully climb out of.
WVU had a good team this year, but the South Florida game has to stick out too, they looked terrible in that game and UGA was much better defensively than the Bulls were.

I hear what you're saying. I'm just finding it difficult to understand why OU's lack of personnel isn't being called into question. As I statd, earlier, if Georgia was down those players would they have been as stout or would it have showed, at some point?? Injuries (or missing starters) are a part of the game, but I don't think WVU is getting enough credit. They beat a very good football team in OU, even though they were down some impact players. Are they 20 pts better than OU, on any given night?? Absolutely not, but I think they should be talked about in the same breath as LSU, USC and Georgia. Definitely the 4 best teams in teh country, right now... and none of them have a loss to OU or played in the same conference as OU.

The Big10 was definitely down this year and I said that all year. I just do not jump on the SEC hype machine like some do. They went 3-5 in Bowl games this year but were very competitive in every game except the USC game where Illinois had no business playing in. They did finally have a losing record vs SEC team in Bowl games this year. ;) Went 1-2 with Michigan beating Florida at Florida, Wisconsin barely losing to Tenn, and OSU losing by 14 to LSU basically on the road. The Big10 has huge disadvantages in Bowl games. Heck 90% of the time it is basically a road game like the one last night. Be like if the NC was held in Cleveland Brown Stadium. Huge disadvantage for northern teams in Bowls and if anybody would argue different they are nuts.

:D Put it this way! in 6 of the Bowl games the Big10 played in it was in the opposing team's state. Big disadvantage to say the least. Not trying to make excuses but think of the southern teams had to go up north to play in their bowl games. The Big10 has to basically win road games to win bowl games but they still usually do very well.

I mean think if your Tech Raiders had to play in the snow bowl at Heinz field in Pa or Soldier field vs PSU, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan Wisconsin etc etc. Huge disadvantage.

Poor Big 10...Can't win in the West or South...Only place they shine is in the snow?...

Yeah, lets slow the game down by playing in 6 inches of snow...Great plan, pack0808...

Wasn't saying they should change the Bowls just spoke the truth when I said it is a disadvantage. And the Big10 still has the head to head lead over the SEC. ;) The Big10 was down this year I will not argue that a bit. Looks like the Big12 conference might have been the best of all after looking at the final rankings.

Big 12 was a great conference this year....Big 10?

Big 10 was down last year too...

Your Big 10 BCS teams in the last 2 years are 0-4...

Ohio State 2007, 2006
1/7 vs. Louisiana State (12-2) L 24 38 @ New Orleans, LA BCS Championship
1/8 vs. Florida (13-1) L 14 41 @ Glendale, AZ BCS Championship

Illinois 2007
1/1 vs. Southern California (11-2) L 17 49 @ Pasadena, CA Rose Bowl

Michigan 2006
1/1 vs. Southern California (11-2) L 18 32 @ Pasadena, CA Rose Bowl

Outscored 73-160...0-4...

I dunno, pack0808....

Your one BCS title took 2 OT's and a questionable call(not getting into that)...

I don't see how you can honestly defend that mess..

As someone who was at the National Championship game, I can honestly say that it was not a complete "home field advantage" for LSU. I'm sure there were more LSU fans, but not enough to really effect the game. The Ohio (or Oohi for anyone who say their cheerleaders bring the flags out) State fans were loud and strong whenever their team was on defense or during a big play. The "home field advantage" was definitely not as big as a factor as some people made or are making it out to be.
